Can a run still be considered valid if the battery goes flat in the middle? Also in the case of game crashes, are we allowed to do anything to hide our living spaces, or do we just have to leave it in?

It’s not allowed unfortunately, I already asked this (either by dm or post can’t remember). The video can’t stop or else you could do it in different sessions and it can’t be detected, it’s the same for all speedrunning it’s just a convention with no simple solution. I had to figure out how to make the battery last for the full run, which isn’t that hard tbh you just need a small power bank and fast cable, etc.

As for crashing I’m not sure, if you have passthrough turned off maybe it won’t show anything? It’s annoying how it can suddenly crash and go into passthrough (happened once in my most recent run) but not sure what else you could do? You could hang sheets in front of you lol I don’t know.

Hanging sheets won’t work, the headset needs a visual on your area to create the boundary so you don’t walk into a wall, the pass through may work tho, I’ll try it

I’ve had a thought, could you use a secondary camera for if the headset goes flat, that way you could continue timing if anything happens

I don’t know it’s up to the mods I guess, but then you need two different videos somehow merged together or whatever. If the secondary camera was the main video feed then it wouldn’t be showing the in game stuff, or maybe if both are streaming together or something. So far it seems like battery end means run end though. I’ve lost a couple of runs that way, so now I make sure to have full charge, etc.
