I'm thinking about getting into running the game, but I'm curious about how those who run on the PC version go about it. Do you use a virtual machine, some other form of 98/2000/xp emulation, or does it run well under modern windows with compatibility mode? Any guidance would be helpful as running the 64 version with an emulator is known to have poor load times, and in my experience has other issues as well.
Thanks in advance.
To be honest I can't fully remember exactly how to get the PC games working myself, but if you join our discord everyone there is very knowledgeable and will be able to help. As far as 64 on emulator we have separated the categories so if there is a difference it will not affect the console records meaning it's fair game no matter what version you want to play. In my experience the game feels much laggier on emulator although it's a pretty laggy game at times already. Must use Project64 V3.0 for emulator runs. There is also a category if you change a couple settings in the emulator to make the games 60 FPS. If you want to check the settings out visit the 60FPS ruleset page.
Hello, I was using a VMware at the time (I suggest using PCem nowadays for a more accurate emulation) but eventually switched to a real XP machine for other Army Men PC runs. As for can Sarge Heroes 1 PC port work on a modern computer, yes it can. I've been able to run it on my Windows 10 PC without any issues. I hope this helps you!
