📢 April/May 2025 Rules & Category Updates Recap 📢

Hey runners! Here's a quick summary of recent updates and changes from our Discord to keep everyone up to speed:

General Rules Updates

• All runs must use the Landfall Speedrunning Tools mod and keep the QR code visible during map selection.

• No external applications or unapproved mods — only those on our whitelisted mods list are allowed.

• In the Difficulty settings, you may use Chill, Steady, or Sprint presets, but do not adjust individual sliders. If it says "Custom," your settings are invalid.

Category Changes

• Difficulty subcategories have been removed — choose any preset, just follow the rules above.

• Any% Glitchless has been retired for now; all runs have been moved to Any%. It'll return if a major skip or glitch is found.

• Any% All Items has been retired due to confusion with save types — New Game is now the standard.

• 100% now means unlocking all items and abilities and manifesting all items — upgrades are no longer required.

• Any% Set Seed clarified: you now use individual seeds per shard, not one for the whole run.

Miscellaneous Updates

• The first forced level no longer counts toward shard node totals when using tools or route planning.

• We're now whitelisting non-gameplay-altering mods in our Discord — check #whitelisted-mods and submit requests in #suggestions.

• IL and demo timing now supports milliseconds to the thousandth. Update your LiveSplit settings if you want to display this automatically!

We've finished setting up the full game leaderboard, please read the updated rules before running. We have got subcategories of each for seed type, save type and difficulty.

We are now requiring the use of Landfall's Speedrunning Tools workshop mod that adds features specific to speedrunning, for example the autosplitter. We've also decided as a community to run with a modified save to unlock all items in the shop pool for more variety, everything else is as it would be in a new save. (There is a fresh save subcategory if that is what you prefer.)

Category extensions are planned to be opened soon. If you have any suggestions, please post them in a forum post or in the suggestions channel in the Discord.

Today the Head of Community at Landfall Games announced on Discord that the Demo will be ending soon. We encourage all runners to keep running and players that have yet to run, do at least 1 run if you are interested. I want to thank everyone personally who has taken part in speedrunning the demo. We are all looking forward to the full release of the game.

We have made a new HASTE: Broken Worlds server dedicated to Speedrunning. The main HASTE server has one speedrunning channel to talk about everything, and it's getting crowded. You can join through the Discord link on the main leaderboards towards the top or use this link (https://discord.gg/RbRUvmmnsN).

All PC runners are now required to use Livesplit and activate the autosplitter.

LiveSplit is not supported on macOS and Linux. Runners on macOS or Linux are exempt from this rule. When submitting your run please change the platform that applies to you.

If you are on PC, Head over to the guides section to learn how to activate the autosplitter. Livesplit must be visible at all times during your run in the recording. Thank you to all the runners who have been using Livesplit, and runners that brought this to my attention.

New Glitchless Category

Runners recently discovered that the Level Skip Glitch isn't always accurate and is performed with a controller. Level Skip Glitch defeats the purpose of the game and makes runs heavily reliant on RNG. Level Skip Glitch and any other glitches found in the future will still be allowed in the Any% category. As of today, you can start performing glitchless runs and submitting them! Thank you to everyone who has messaged me about this issue!
