I submitted a run to a game, but realized afterward that I entered the wrong type information ("Advanced" instead of "Standard"). Is there a way to amend a run submission with the correct information, or pull the run to resubmit?
Click on the hourglass icon at the top (pending actions), then click on "view all". Then, you can edit your submission under "pending game requests".
Note that it will re-submit the game and will send it back to the queue, like it is a new game.
To be more precise: You can't directly edit an existing game submission. You can, however, create a new one (and then delete the erroneous one).
Due to issues with editing a submission currently being evaluated, we are unlikely to support editing of existing submissions in the future, either.
Actually, I'm pretty sure I just did edit it.
Clicked on the hourglass as @Oreo321 suggested, then clicked on my run (the "Today" part) in the Runs Awaiting Verification section. This took me to a page with my run starting with "https://www.speedrun.com/wpu/run<some characters>", and a message "Awaiting verification: A moderator needs to verify this run before it appears on the leaderboard." But there's also an icon with three vertical dots. When I clicked that, a menu came up with options "Edit Run" and "Delete Run".
I chose "Edit Run", and got to a page that started with "https://www.speedrun.com/wpu/editrun/<same characters as before>" that were filled in with all of the entries I entered before. I changed the field I needed to, hit Submit, and my entry was magically updated in the Runs Awaiting Verification section with the corrected information. Didn't have to delete the original and create a new one. Furthermore, it's order in the queue remained unchanged.
I think you confused two terms here. The title of this thread is "edit a game submission", while you just described editing a run submission.
Both can be edited in the "pending actions" page. Changing anything in a Game submission will do what @Habreno just described. However, when you edit a run you can change anything in it (submitted time, video link, run description, etc). If you edit an already accepted run, it will go back to verification queue by the game moderators.
Okay, then my bad for using the wrong wording in the title. I wanted to edit the run, not the game. Still learning the vocabulary! :)
Indeed, two very different things. Runs have and (for the most part) will be editable. Note that any edit you do will cause the run to be flagged for verification again. If this means the run needs to be re-reviewed or not is up to the moderation team and your moderation status for the game. In most cases, the run will become a pending submission again, but if you're a game moderator or the game does not require verification, the run can remain verified (in the former case, you are able to verify yourself, though this will still keep the previous verification mark, and the latter, well... there aren't things such as unverified runs).
when you click to your run there are 3 points at the buttom of the video (on the right). Then click on edit run and change it
