To add on to what Matse said, if the issue with custom flairs is potential abuse, why am I allowed to have custom themes and profile pictures where I could have nsfw content? I could even give myself an inappropriate username.
Remove ads from the support hub. Elo shouldn’t be profiting from ads as I help them out by reporting bot users for them.
If you already push articles in our face, give us a comment section or something where we can discuss the article.
I keep getting malicious ads. Please get rid of those.
@Pear just use adblock. It's definitely more justified in my case (since I donated to the site in the past), but I feel like if ads are being intrusive that adblock is completely justified.
@Lieutenant_Boo probably linking to bad products, viruses, etc. They most likely use google ads on here, which has had that problem for awhile.
Like the “You’ve won a new iPhone! Put in your information.” type of ad. Also often with a bunch of redirects that prevent me from using the back button.
We also now seem to have ads directly embedded into the website, as I do get ads despite me using ublock origin. Frustrating. Very very frustrating.
@Matse007 haven't seen any ads while just using brave, but that might just be me. (other than the self-advertised $20 feedback survey)
Also, the bad ads wouldn’t be an issue if the site didn’t load them right under where my finger is about to press.
I did not manage to replicate it again while being logged in, but it happens for sure for logged out users.
I marked the second position I saw that ad in with red. (The other position is visible as you can see)
2nd screenshot shows the html for the ad.
I have the sidebar disabled. That's probably why I haven't seen any.
Now the site has started redirecting me to the bad ads without me even touching them.
I like the new pending thingy, but some feedback:
- That search bar looks super out of place.
- The tabs look weird not touching each other. It would fit the theme better if they behaved similarly to how they do on leaderboards.
I don’t think it’s much of an ask to make some visual changes that took me a total of 3 minutes to do with custom CSS
Fair, but I'm also glad it was updated. It's nice to have this feedback.
