Anyone know of any Linux specific speed running tools/timers?

Several tools are available in the Resources page. You can use OBS Multiplatform to stream, and Llanfair as your timer.

is there a downloadable timer for lunix?

Hi totally real Luigi & fellow Linux-runner!

There are a couple of timers you can try. You'd have to see for yourself what suits you:

  • molok <- That's the one I use currently. Works great & nice to have advanced statistics. Doesn't have a built-in editor, so you need to provide a lss-file (download from split.io or therun.gg).
  • Livesplit one (browser): Does work, but needs the window active to register splits. I needed a workaround to capture it...
  • Livesplit via wine: Installation is a hassle. Might work for you, for me it didn't.
  • Llanfair <- has it's fair share of issues (pun intended!). Especially when resizing or doing large edits. Still I used that quite a lot before I changed to molok.
  • Urn <- hasn't been updated in years. I never tried this one, no idea how good it works
  • https://github.com/slashinfty/chronode <- never tried this one, no idea how good it works
  • https://github.com/Toasterbirb/SeedSplit <- never tried this one, no idea how good it works

Note on livesplit one. Browsers can detect gamepad input even when not in focus so you can control it in game with any spare gamepad keys available. I wonder if theres any program like reWASD available on gnulinux that can remap keyboard inputs into gamepad presses. That would essentailly make it controllable without focus.
