Skipping Bikini Girl Bonuses:

There is a bikini girl bonus available for rounds 10, 18, 26, 34, 42, and every eighth round thereafter. Each one wastes 90 frames, so cancelling all of them could save up to 7.5 seconds over the course of the run. You will not get a bikini girl bonus if ANY round since the last bikini girl round is:

  • beaten in 40 seconds or more (3,000 pts. or less time bonus)
  • beaten without all the chirps being delivered to the exit in a single chain The latter criterion is far less time-consuming, so here are the least time-consuming places you can split up your chirp delivery and cancel all the bikini girl bonuses:

Round 4: Collect the two bottom chirps as usual and drop them off in the exit before jumping up to the next platform. Round 12: Jump to grab the two chirps to your left. Jump again to grab a third chirp to your left and drop those three off in the exit. After, grab that remaining chirp to your right and progress up the level as usual. Round 24: After you fall through the level's central shaft, deliver your seven chirps to the exit before getting the last one. Round 33: When using the exit platform to jump to the top of the level, drop off your six chirps in the exit along the way. Round 36: Grab the two bottom chirps and put them through the exit before getting the rest.

Skipping Extra Life Pauses:

You can get up to five extra lives at 30k, 80k, 160k, 240k, and 320k points. When an extra life is awarded while an end of level bonus is being applied, the game pauses for a maximum of 30 frames to allow the extra life fanfare to complete. If we can manipulate the extra lives to be awarded during a level, there will be no pause in gameplay. I have found a way to skip the pause of the 3rd and 5th extra lives (only 1 second total timesave) by collecting the following specific numbers of chirps during the bonus rounds:

Round 3: 4 chirps (1000 points) Round 7: 6 chirps (1500 points) Round 11: All 20 chirps (15000 points) Round 15: 14 chirps (3500 points)

  • IMPORTANT: For your score to line up with the above, you need to:
  • split your chirp chains to avoid bikini girl bonuses in the same manner mentioned above
  • not collect ANY gems
  • hit Tiger and Iggy the same number of times as is considered optimal. This equates to 200 points worth of hits in rounds 2, 4, 8, 10, and 13; and 400 points worth in round 12
