Why round lap times?

What are the benefits of rounding fastest lap times in a racing game vs. using the decimals provided by the game?

I agree

It should be determined by in-game decimals

Still an open question.

I have no idea why lap times are, or ever were, rounded. I can't think of any benefit this has and it just creates tied records where there is no need for there to be. I will go through and edit the runs to have their actual times and readjust the leaderboards accordingly.

As a further update, I have changed all of the current run timings so that the IGT given is the lap time plus a trailing 0 for ms.

E.G. lap time of 9.78 is sent as: 9s 780ms

Yeah, no idea as to why people forget to add the ms, as stated it just gives tied records.

Changes to the Full Game Category (Now all platforms can compete on a level playing field!)

Fellow XG1 crew, the leaderboards now total the IGT (in-game-timer) total lap time for every series run pb, so that we may compare runs across different versions of the game (64, switch, and ANY emu) without having to resort to timing issues relating to the load time discrepancies between versions.
