Before today, Extreme Tux Racer versions 0.7.5 and 0.8.0 were not allowed on the boards, and 0.6.0 was. We have been looking more into the game code recently and have decided to disallow 0.6.0. 0.7.0's release gave the game a major code update, as well as added a whole new category of practice races to the game (Extras). Therefore we believe 0.6.0 is obsolete. Any runs currently on the board as 0.6.0 will remain, but no further runs will be accepted on 0.6.0. 0.7.5 and 0.8.0 will hereby be accepted into the boards as viable speedrun patches. 0.8.0 did have some minor code adjustments added, but as it stands right now, we think it's nothing game breaking or strat breaking.

From this point, all Swiss/Canadian Cup runs should have a timer onscreen in the video that is not, I repeat, not, the in-game timer. By adding up the times listed on the in-game timer, you are counting for in-game time. The game is timed in real time because you make the input to move forward instead of the game auto-loading to the next course. There is also no load remover for this game. Time starts on selecting "Race!" on the menu screen for the first course of the event. Time ends upon the first frame of the "Congratulations!" screen. You must include at least 1 second of the "Congratulations!" screen in your video. Your timer must include the time it takes to get to all races.

For practice courses, time ends upon hitting the barrier of the last level (Chragi's Gagiwaetr and Wild West Chute Out)

This clarification applies to all categories except IL's.

For IL's we have actually been using in-game time instead of real time on the boards. This will stay this way.

There is one more thing we may look into, but these are the changes for now. They will be reflected on the board tonight.

Thank you! Happy gaming!
