1: You don't need to collect chainsaw fuel or red mushrooms. Spamming the rev chainsaw button while attacking deals the same damage. Using the empty chainsaw will avoid the execution animation which wastes a few seconds each time.
2: Grab as many health items as you can. You'll absolutely need them.
3: When Ash gets knocked down, double tap START to cancel his getting back up animation. This is the most helpful when fighting the tree boss (which I haven't found a decent strat for yet).
4: Using One-Liners repeatedly in certain areas will confuse enemies (Skeletons / Scouts) and stop them from attacking you, and will, in some cases, stop them spawning altogether (Just before the Lawnmower in the maze, and at the 4 gravestones are two important examples).
5: On the current route, Ghosts will spawn in the same place 99% of the time, so hug the other side of the path to avoid being knocked down. You may run into a bit of trouble down the side of the cabin. It's very tight, and one can potentially block the whole path.
6: If you have any ammo loaded inside the guns just before you upgrade them, you will lose that ammo. You get a full reload when upgrading.
7: Wall hitboxes are huge. Give yourself a wide berth when going around corners, especially in the maze and around the pillars on the final boss.

Want to update with more time saves i've come up with
Pro = Time Save Con = Time Loss
Scout Leader:
Pro - Let him attack right before you swing at the wood and if you do this right he'll keep running even after he takes damage.
Con - You'll still take damage most of the time so it's best if you've managed to keep your 2nd large health kit but if not there's a chance he'll drop a small health kit
Tree Monster -
Pro - With the Tree Boss you don't have to keep attacking only attack once every time after its hit animation is done because there's a chance he won't throw HIS attack and this will give you full advantage without pausing to hit him.
Con: This is tricky because you have to swing your chainsaw at the right time if you don't you'll have to pause and unpause after he hits you.
Boy Scout Camp -
Pro - Skip the rifle ammo at the boy scout camp and get the ammo after killing Bone Ash
Con - There's a possibility Bone Ash will drop a health kit or won't drop anything at all
Hillybilly farm house:
Pro - Inside at times you only need to kill the skinnier hillbilly going to the main room. When you come out of the main room the bigger hillbilly (Humpty Dumpty) will typically jump to the side but only if he's close enough when you first attack him and this gives you room to run right past him.
Con - If Humpty Dumpty doesn't jump you'll have to kill him
Deadite Pig Rooms in farm house:
Pro - You don't have to kill the deadite pigs you can simply run in between them and go straight to the objective.
Con - They could get in your way if they jump on your way back.
Main Room before Armor Creature:
Pro - The 2 Skeletons in the main room before the Armor Creature Boss don't have to be killed if you have room to run around them.
Con - If you manage to get stuck without having any room killing one would be necessary
Library:
Pro - Near the end of the game at the library the cultists don't have to be killed you COULD run around them and just focus on the objective at hand.
Con: Could get in your way
Maze:
Pro - First going to the the last area of the maze before the tree boss after you run down don't take your first right yet (Ash's side) stop quick and turn. When you do this a skeleton will spawn behind you this way is better as you don't have to worry about getting stuck on the other skeleton before the vines because he won't spawn. The Skeleton after the first one is passable. Take note that 2 skeletons can only spawn at the same time.
Con: It's possible to get stuck on the 2nd skeleton that spawns
Arabian Village - Taunt before giving the items to the npc so you can move instantly when you're done talking to him
Weapon Upgrades - Only one weapon upgrade is necessary and that's for your boomstick so don't bother picking up the other 2
Food Pickups - I would skip on the beef Jerky, Pork Links and the Jam
Inventory - If you know where and what you have in your inventory you can move diagonal to select things quicker
Boomstick - After using 2-4 round clips with your boomstick jump back while you reload because often times this can lead to what I would call an instant reload
Mushrooms - If you can manage to dodge allot of the attacks the Mushrooms aren't really necessary until near the end of the game so it's better to just pick up health drops from deadites.
There are locations you should and should not taunt at:
Good: -Maze -Boy Scout Camp -Outside cabin after getting shovel -At the cemetery before going in front of the church after collecting items
- Library
- After skipping the cutscene killing Bone Ash when you first enter the fruit cellar
[Reason] ---> Gives you a chance to keep deadites from spawning so you have way more room
Bad:
The trail before getting the shovel
[Reason] ---> you can get stuck in between the ghosts all you need to do is stick to the right
Arabian Village
[Reason] ---> You need to kill the skeletons as quickly as possible you don't want them to run away
The biggest note to take here is this game is based on rng when it comes to deadites so anything can happen.
