Hi! the fastest any% run on console is this one:
there is also a tutorial for how to do the run on console in the guide section here on speedrun.com
if you want to ask questions about the tricks and route its probably best if you join the discord, people respond way faster there
good luck!
yeah none of us have livesplit on top of the game, we have it on a seperate monitor or behind the game. But using obs like steven said, you can have it show up in the recording.
a skip for the fight, makes me think i can skip even more fights,
thought I'd join since i recently played through the game and wanna give it a go
Unfortunately no, because of the changes they made (epic store version is 64 bit, not 32 bit) we dont have an applicable patch
yeah if cpu is too fast single core speed it wont work, which is sad but also funny
you have to go into the autosplitter settings and enable cutscene speedup
As meta mentioned, I used Rivatuner Statistics Server to lower my fps for the new strats. This is an external tool yes, but the same result could be achieved with just lagging the game ( which is actually how we discovered the tech lol). Banning RTSS also bans people who dont get consistent 60 FPS from playing, since you do get more roll speed at even 45 fps than at 60. Which is one reasoning for why it should be allowed in my opinio.
We also found a way to skip the intro cutscene with a specific save. By setting reputation to 1 before the run starts, we skip the intro cutscene and change nothing else in the game. The starting save I think should be a no brainer to allow since it makes resetting way less of an issue without changing the gameplay at all.
Both of these things need to be decided on by the community.

waiting for the story campaign to return, literally no point when leaderboards get invalidated for small changes to the levels and the levels have very little variety in terms of strats.
In 2 days we will add Glitchless as a category to the main boards, and alter the rules for legacy
new rules can be viewed here https://docs.google.com/document/d/12fbA_HTZhHUPEBCjk8ti4OHemhOGe42lyFeEAPFznqc/edit
@jackzfiml We don't want RTA to be default timing method, one of the goals of the mod is to keep LRT comparable to non modded runs while reducing downtime/ time stuck in cutscenes.
@diggity This is a solution under current implementation on the site, but having the actual RTA time would be better imo. another solution would be to not input RTA for modded runs. Allowing moderators to toggle the RTA timing restriction in game settings would be my ideal solution
Due to a recent livesplit component for Dishonored, the game allows us to speed up about 9 mins of cutscenes, this component also speeds up the livesplit timer, so the RTA time is about 24 mins, while LRT comes out to about 32 mins for top level runs. With current site configuration we can not input our RTA times with this mod. Any way we can get an option to disable this blocker?
The best way to get a run added to a leaderboard is to make rules and do runs, if people are interested the run could probably get added.
There is no guide right now, but the only real technique I know of is the infinite wall run. This is done by looking away from the wall and back onto the wall while jumping out of a wall run.
The current tutorial any% world record does this a bunch, so you can use that as a reference guide. I personally find the trick easier by moving my head in a circle pattern, as that has a set rythmn to it.
Speedrun.com forums are a very slow way of communicating and have limitations in terms of people not checking them often, I propose we make a community discord for strat discussion, troubleshooting, run sharing, sharing when we go live tl;dr: discord good forums bad
It was patched, unfortunately, there's a channel in the discord that explains how to downpatch
Hi! The Dishonored (2012) moderation team has been looking at changing up our leaderboards for quite a while (moving categories around and into subcategories while making a few new ones), but have put it off as we haven't been able to find a good, safe and managable way to switch things around. There is over a 1000 runs we currently have to move manually to the new setup and considering we don't want to lose any runs including obsoletes, we hope there might be a way for a site admin to help us move all runs through the site back end.
If we don't hear back before Saturday we will continue with our plan of doing it manually, but it would be super helpful if we could have someone look at this with us. Unsure of where to write this, so did it here :)
This covers it, you can also check the KoD any% record for a strat that fixes it in a slightly faster way
