And here it is: http://www.speedrun.com/ofdp
What is it? A one-dimensional brawler: You are the unholy fusion of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, fighting off waves of enemies from the left and the right using keyboard, mouse, or gamepad on PC or 360. And the controls are tighter than the lid on a fresh jar of pickles.
Why is it a good speed game? Because the game actually includes its own speed meter: If you do well on a stage, subsequent stages proceed faster. You directly speed up the game! But not too much, because the faster it gets, the harder it gets, so you have to manage how well you do to make it go as fast as you can handle...but not over!
Does it have movement tech? In a way, yes: The game includes "brawlers" which are long and sometimes difficult sequences of inputs that can be bypassed by weapon pickups that cause one-hit kills. There is skill in noticing enemies carrying these weapons, noticing approaching brawlers, and controlling the order of your kills to bypass brawls to save time: Arrows, daggers, bombs, giant flying swords, staves, and maces, and (my personal favourite) the ball of death, which can be kept in play indefinitely for as many one-hit kills as you desire...if you have the skill!
Who runs this game? Me! No, really: That's it. Please join me! And I run only one of the difficulty modes, so the other two are literally free world records right now. Feel free to suggest new categories if any interest you. And feel free to check out my channel, too, if you like variety gaming: I play practically everything, and I'm also working on picking up some additional speed games to round out my "portfolio" beyond the exploits of my friend Lanky Chan.
