8 race runs will now require aggressive items as we believe runs will be more interesting that way. Any runs done before 3/17/2024 (currently there are 2 submitted) will be grandfathered in despite this change as the times aren't particularly fast.
What is going on here? Anyone have any idea? Leaderboard: https://www.speedrun.com/mariocart?h=World_1-Mushroom&x=l_ldygglkd-jdregpgk![](/static/blob/xz0d48el.jpg)
Almost every forum post in the last like 10 years or whatever have relied on old markdown. All of those posts are essentially broken now (including the FAQs thread not showing table of contents [alongside me having to probably update the contents to the new site layout]) because it seems that markdown is either disabled or changed. Can someone explain the new markdown so I can fix my more important threads?
Sounds baller AF but I can't find it on YT for some reason:
I don't need people seeing how many time I've been logged in and checked on a leaderboard, it's kinda weird.
For the time being, We're lifting the requirement of input display from dolphin player runs. While it is still preferred that you have one, there's no requirement to have an input display to get your run on the board. That being said, if you're run doesn't have an input display and we have reason to doubt your ability to perform it, you will be asked to showcase at least some of your skills live in order to prove that your run is legit.
Feels like it's been here for awhile now
Why can you even have a URL in a forum title/name? I can't think of a reason you'd want one other than advertisement. To be clear, they should definitely still be allowed in text, but I can't see why you'd allow them in forum titles.
I played through this game on hard and somehow never fought the maze monster (until the end obviously). Was I really lucky to never encounter him on my first visit?
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know who the first 'member' (non-staff) of SRC was?
I'm thinking of doing an extremely long (and therefore slow speedrun). How would you go about doing that? Do you just need to constantly keep recording segments and uploading it? Most sites have a limit on what they save and if streaming, there's a good chance stream would end sometime in those 41 days. I have the means of making a game run and whatnot during that time, but how should I document/record it?
When did they add this? Surprised I didn't hear about it. I think it's a cool addition.
@KKOJJGSS was in full control of this board for awhile even though I was listed as a mod purely because I had no real interest in overseeing this board myself. However, since he has been inactive for awhile now, I decided to look at the boards + verify and runs until he's back.
I find the current rules hard to read so I'll make them more specific.
I will also be adding a mandatory input display if you're playing on dolphin. To set that up, check this guide out that I made:
If anyone here is doing a run that's so long it can't be made into a single youtube upload (for example a 15 hour run), you can split the video as long as the same level is shown at the end of 1 video and the start of the next.
For example, if part 1 ends on level 330, it shows level 330 played all the way, then part 2 shows level 330 from start to finish again and then can continue from there.
I'm running out of ideas for youtube polls, so if anyone's got stuff they're curious about, I could use some good questions.
Video and Audio Proof Threshold: 1:05:00
Capture Card Threshold: 55:00
^I can understand requiring video and audio proof, but why is there a need for capture cards at 55:00? What could that showcase that someone recording their whole TV + setup cannot (assuming they somehow get a solid quality recording of their setup). I don't plan on running this game rn, but I'm just curious as this was brought up in the talk forums.
