To answer the question in your title, yes. There are many browser based games on the site, one notable one being Super Mario 63. Most of the time what players will do (if it's a flash game) is extract the .swf file for the game and load it into a .swf file player. This makes it easier to record and also removes any ads on the site.
I do think this is something that the community is interested in. Several members (myself included) have already submitted our times to the spreadsheet leaderboard. Having an automated one would be great.
Could someone give me some parameters as to what I would need in my computer in order to have quality streams (basically minimal lag/buffering) with 2-4 windows open in OBS?
That would be optimal, but it's hard to do that when the bro spawns at the bottom. It is possible to do a tricky jump off of the back lip of the preceding pipe to get onto the top layer of bricks and avoid the bro, but such a jump is very difficult without the use of a quick left tap, which of course will change the RNG.
Oh okay. I never thought of looking for that. All I was concerned about was killing the bottom one. I'll do the level again to see if I have any other problems.
Follow up to the last thread I started. This is what I was talking about with the RNG changing in the same level & framerule without me manipulating it. If there's anything I did that would manipulate it please let me know.
I have a comparison video that I'll upload tonight. Both ROMs start at the same framerule and shouldn't have any movement differences that would manipulate the RNG, yet the Bros at the end act differently.
Sometimes I don't stomp on any enemies or slow down and the RNG is still different on the same framerule
8-3. I'm trying to learn the hammer bro patterns for all of the framerules I might be on during a run so I won't die as often.
Okay another question with the ROM: should it have the same RNG as the original game? I keep loading the same frame rule on normal ROM and the practice ROM but I get completely different RNG.
First question: yes Second question: what do you mean by patch?
I couldn't get it to work on emulator, was I doing something wrong?
Is there a program or method available I can use to start a level on a specified framerule on an emulator? (I use FCEUX.)
Xerox works great. Perfect for people that are at a similar skill level of mine.
That is good. It definitely isn't very aesthetically pleasing but you mentioned that wasn't too much of a concern. When you do some visual improvements I think it would be cool if the player names could show up as they do on the normal leaderboard. I don't know if this is possible but if it is I would love to see it.
