Adibou 2 is a game for kids on PC from the 90’s. But more importantly, it’s an educational game, so it doesn’t have a beginning or end. It’s just a bunch of minigames and activities kids can play.
Its first speedrun was done 4 years ago, kind of like a joke, so with no specific rules in mind. The problem is that the runs on sp.com are considered 100 %, but it’s not a real 100 %, I don’t even know what it could mean to do a 100 % run with this kind of games. For example, in the game there are short cartoons and music videos, should we watch them to pretend we did a 100 % run? There is also a mini game that has not been included in the run for no specific reason.
Second part in next post.
Hi all,
I've submitted a run yesterday for Adibou 2 but I've seen that some people have submitted runs many months ago (more than 5) and it's still pending, there is basically no mods for this game (there are actually three mods but 2 of them didn't log in for a year and the other one doesn't seem to check runs). So what do we do? The problem with this game is that the rules to speedrun it are very specific, it's actually an educational game so there is no start and end, which means that not anybody can check the runs and determine if it's acceptable or not.
So what to do?
have two solutions:
- I can give to a mod the list of things to check to know if the run is valid or not (the run is 9 min long so not too much things to check).
- The game is mainly played by French players (since it's a French game) and there is a French streamer that runs the game. She is also in contact with people that know this speedrun well, so if you give them mod access to the game they could check the runs, they could even do it live on Twitch. If this is a possibility, I can check with them if they are ok to do it.
Another solution would be to give me the mod status (I'm already moderator for another game) BUT I have to say that I submitted a WR run for this game so someone else would have to check and accept my run anyway.
In any case, it would be great to solve this situation.
Thanks.
