I'm interested in doing some long speedruns, but I would like to have on my second monitor something like a power point presentation with information about my route that I can switch slides even when the program doesnt have focus like livesplit does. Even better if I could map this to a gamepad key.
Are there preferable settings to apply before the run? What is good to know before doing this run?
Crawl is a good game on the switch and its speedrun is about 5 minutes.
I've been playing Rukia mainly due to her Super B, it deals alot of damage for 1 bar and allows you to follow up afterwards as well. Her Super C also above average i think for level 3 supers, though the animation is a bit long, she's the only characters I've really tried since she was my main back when I used to play this game and I've gotten alot of sub 3 minute runs.
Other characters I think have potential is Kenpachi due to his high damage level 3 but it might be outclassed by Grand Fisher, my secondary character, he's very fast on the ground and has some of the best damage output on his supers for their bar investment, they are also very short animations for their damage output. Chad is another character I think might have potential, with good damage normals with quick animations and high damage supers. Nemu also has fast dealing combos but probably is only suited for easy difficulty since you would want to reset your combos after and air combo and not get a knockdown. Ikaku also has a high damage level 1 super but it causes a knockdown. I'm not sure why people are running Ichigo as his kit seems very poor for a speedrun, lots of knockdowns, both of his supers knockdown and don't even really deal high damage for their bar cost, his level 3 has the potential for long combos but these take a long time and the damage scaling will cost you alot of time as well, and his normal combos aren't particular high dps either.
So at the moment I think Rukia might be the best choice but if I invest more time I think the Grand Fisher might give her some competition for that slot although I haven't actually done any runs with him.
I have a few IRL friends with accounts here and would like to be notified when they submit a new run, would a follow user button become available in the future, similar to how we can follow games atm?
Crawl is a true hidden gem, everyone that I've met that has played it loved the game and they usually say the only thing holding it back is it's lack of online play, this is true but at least here you can speedrun the game! https://www.speedrun.com/crawl One of my all time favorite games and a fantastic and unique dungeon crawling experience, with a great artstyle and amazing voicework you should consider giving Crawl a chance to speedrun it.
I was actually working on my speedrunning guide when I saw this. I should have the finished video within the week but if you want to take a look at the slides I have created so far you can here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1bxiUZhgMTwuFwMTSscjJxMKqYCj3MUiKPUQK95VGSI8/edit?usp=sharing Give this game a follow and turn on the notifications for new forum posts and you'll see it when it comes out or follow my youtube channel @ youtube.com/magikbased My youtube also has all my Crawl runs there as well.
Avoid: Teok - monsters benefits that deal more damage. Gor - the gargoyle monster can take additonal time to kill Qaahl - technically okay but starts the first duel with a bow which can be annoying as even if he doesnt kill you he can kill another AI which deprives you of 20 gold
Debatable: Gholoth - traps do more damage, which can make hardbots% more difficult, fine in the lower difficulties Odshan - if he spawns a slime it can be a minor time loss killing it, though its pretty rare in a run for him to even spawn a slime
Good: Murkan - no monster benefits and fine monsters S'hrim - no monster benefits and fine monsters Xophant - no monster benefits and fine monsters Glub - the best diety, no monster benefits and the glub fish gives more xp.
AI cant pick momot or chz.
The best setup is 3 glubfish as something special could happen if you get 3. In between floors if all ai's are glub fish then its likely that they will only spend time doing one evolution upgrade and not have the wrath for another, giving a decent time save.
I typically accept all in the good category + odshan.
Stupid outlaw being super annoying.
Unlucky on losing the backflip but still WR, great run.
