@ominij Technically it's possible provided the full game run is submitted for each lol. Joking on that one of course. But on a serious note I do completely understand, although I will note it is possible to know if it's on casual gamer mode at minimum just due to the health regeneration since the other difficulties don't have that ability. Sadly for the other 2 difficulties it's a bit harder because you gotta look at damage done and taken which of course takes extra time for verification but at minimum I figured I'd ask.
Also I've got a full game run to submit at some point, but my lastest on Stream run wasn't the best for the endgame. Offline as I had a chance to practice using the Switch version while at PACE I got around a 02:40:42 for Gamer difficulty. Though I did get a chance to get a few people to check out the game that liked it and at least said they might run the game. Gameplay wise the Switch version does indeed run slower but does feel like damage was buffered the tiniest bit to make it as a viable option for full game runs. However, it does feel like it might be a good option for some of the ILs as it doesn't have the super sampling so the settings the game uses basically gets rid of a lot of the clouds so visibly is a lot better for some of the missions. Did find a few graphics settings for PC that can help a little bit with that but not as good as what the Switch has so figured I'd note it here.
So I know it's a little weird to ask, but is there any way to submit some of the missions I've done during a few of my full game runs and if so what would the timing look like?
I'm assuming it's going to be a no , but it's worth at least asking about it since I've had some missions during my runs of the game even though I haven't submitted them that have basically been really good and even better then some of my IL attempts. (You tell me how it would feel once you split at the first frame of the load screen to another mission and then get that really good execution.)
Oh, on another note I really do need to stream some of my eye out attempts as I've got a few times for Gsmer that beat casual by at least 10s or more.
Question here what are you going to do about the switch version and whether or not it should be included in this or not ? Just wondering as I'm thinking of picking it up since it's on sale right now.
Okay, so I know I'm not on the Discord but I figured out at least post this here: It's Complete Edition's Any% Gamer difficulty if any form of clarification is needed .
Next Saturday 16:00 BST (11 am EDT) I'll be showcasing it in UKSM's Summer online event
Yep, full game run so I thought anyone interested might carry to know since I'm not on the Discord . (Because yeah more people liking the game. )
Estimate I gave was a 3:30 , because my submission video was a 3:17 with a couple of dumb death's late in to the first PAX Americana mission and 1 death on the final boss not noticing missiles at the very end. But figured I'd at least pass along that info since it cost me like 15 to 20 minutes
Trust me this is a bug that honestly more people need to let them know about ASAP. I'm not joking here since I really do need to highlight some of the other things that it does, but when I say causes the game to crash I mean legitimately crash on a lot of things you do not counting the fact that it will not recognize some inputs during the times in between missions and trying to fix it will trigger a crash. I know you said playing it isn't worth it , but I highly recommend you trying out with the latest version of seeing for yourself what I mean .
@ominij honestly I just have more people respond and let them know about this one. As it's so easy to set it up and it's pretty simple to even trigger it to happen. Although I'll you keeping an eye to it so I guess it'll be with supper of us gets to it first at some point I actually have a decent time for Gsmer if I want to submit it, but a couple of end game deaths sort of makes me want to not do it because of losing 15 to 20 minutes. Sub 3 for that difficulty is very possible. I'll note however that the 1 mission well you have to rescue the hostage has copyright audio because of the version of Ride of the Valkyries they use on Twitch. Doesn't really affect anything it's just muted audio although in my latest run I did turn off the music for that one and then turn it back on but I figured you should know just in case .
Though, I'd love to see if it's just me or if it's something with the latest version since I just re-downloaded it from Steam a day or two back. (If we ever want to have a speedrun for it, that bug is 100% gotta have the devs fix it.
@ominij By the way on a side note, I've been looking into the game sequel and it's actually even more broken than last time you played . And this is after their latest update in June:
A little bit off subject, but I couldn't help but share it because of the irony of how easy it is to do. Update apparently fixed one bug but I can only assume created a worse one .
I mean sometimes the attack can be Overkill so you got to learn how much you really need to take things out. Although I'll add that sometimes I'm just using it for movement purposes because of things like momentum , where my camera is positioned and other stuff because it would be slower to try and adjust vs just using it.
The restart is just to get to the enemies faster and has nothing to do with the tech.
@ominij sorry for the poor framerate as I'm still working on getting something solid with that to make it better although I think the latest streams have been better on that one. But you're sorta right. It's the timing of the attacks and when they hit the enemy. Basically if you can release the missiles at the same time as the blade hitting during any of that window it does extra damage for some reason.
Any character with a blade can do it and Mirai also has the added benefits of being able to do that with the railgun as well.
That shows the railgun version of it which is a bit easier to do and notice. (Sorry if quality might not be the best it's being streamed at 30fps with game running at 144fps. So I need to still work on getting something for that as far as streaming goes.)
@ominij So I finally got around to doing a run on Gamer difficulty, although I'm probably not going to submit it because it was that bad towards the end (game crashed partway through after Fall of the Bird of Peace, for some reason had frame rate issues at the start of act 3. and a few other things). However when the Run was good it was good . Wish I could submit some of the levels for the ILs because they were really good. Have some really good tech for you and although I haven't read my notes that readable I do have a link to them on my twitch Channel.
Also submitted Act 1 as a showcase piece to a marathon. BMVs (Blade Missile Volleys) sorta break a lot of combat. Alongside the Railgun version Mirai has access to.
Although this doesn't really explain it that much it shows exactly why it's that useful, melts health pretty quickly and although it needs a bit more refined as I've already worked on it some you I should be able to see the idea. Can't really join the discord at present because I'm nearly at the 100 server limit on discord as it is but when I get a chance to cut down the number I'll probably join it. Just thought I'd give you an update.
@ominij yeah I kind of figured lol (mod a few other games so know it's possible I just felt I'd give you a heads up.)
But I do think you'll find some of the things I found interesting . They really do speed up some things , also changing frame rate really does seem to effect things because of the game running slower sometimes.
@ominij just thought I'd let you know I finally completed my casual playthrough , have a decent amount of note so that I need to take a few more for some of the later missions . Also I've got at least maybe three to four IL times to some bit once I highlight them . Other not sure if I split too soon or too late for some of them so you'd have to look at it .
I've still got to update my notes to make them a bit more readable but I think you'll find some of them interesting especially if some of the interesting Tech that I found. Also I do try to describe some of it during some of the il's .
I have been taking some notes although I've got to make sure that they're a bit more readable for others before I post them in the guide section . But some of them are pretty interesting for strategies .
Oh, I did find a couple of times where I could clip in to things but nothing major except for clipping in to some rocks to save a few seconds in 1 mission and getting stuck inside something nearly costing me a mission. Though I could see something useful depending on the game checking for things in 1-2 missions but modt likely won't help there.
(Edit, typo and added more.)
@ominij. I will say after doing a bit of a test run for act 1 or normal offline I can honestly say that the run will have some interesting tech for each difficulty because of things. Fun fact though having the ability to buffer some inputs while the game is loading is useful. Also Mission 8 against the Patriot the entire 2nd phase is basically going to be real easy on every difficulty but Prepare to Die mode. (Fun fact taking the few seconds to mission restart puts you right next to it and with buffering inputs you can set up to start the damage quickly.
@ominij I'm playing complete edition so I think it's still be there on any other version . But yeah it's one of those buttons that you need to actually swap off of an analog stick if I recall correctly . I actually have it in to one of my face buttons just because you want to use it so much here and there for moving.
@ominij, I thought I should let you know I'm still planning on do a a run of the game. I'm almost through episode 2 on my casual playthrough on Prepare to Die mode and for the most part I haven't really needed to shift to normal or casual to beat a mission with a few exceptions.
I have found some things rooting wise which should be interesting. On the bird of piece fight I did test dropping the framerate and that actually does seem to make the fight a little bit easier although it's still a pain. Though I also think I might finally get how the devs want player's to keep lock one when turning although I need to double check it. But basically turning the other direction away from something as it's going by and using the 180° button. (Still need to test that but it feels like that might be something. )
Anyway I thought I'd give you an update on things.
The speed at which thr game runs. As there's a few missions that can be a lot harder on higher frame rate at least for myself . So it's one of those things where you can deliberately make it a bit slower and thus a bit more controllable .
@ominij is existing to the main menu to change frame rate allowed as long as you go back to the same mission if not playing from a fresh game file? This is of course not changing the difficulty when continuing. Asking since I can support 144fps and since I'm also looking at normal and Prepre to die as categories I can think of at least 1 level where changing it might effect things.
