So in other words, it's currently allowed right now? If so, it needs to be banned in the rules. If not, well, the title should probably be changed to something like Any% BLJ-less. Either way, something needs to be changed, because the title and rules are inconsistent.

Because the title isn't always the most important thing. For some games, even the Any% category has certain things banned, despite the category being named Any%. If you want rules, you need to set them in the Rules, not just the Title. If I were to submit a run that didn't get 70 stars but still finished the game without BLJs or Mips Clip (somehow), you wouldn't really have the right to decline it due to it breaking rules, since there is no RULE against the run.

Yes, but as I said, you wouldn't just say "Beat the game as fast as possible" under the 120 Star rules, even though it's already in the title. So why are we doing the same with 70 Star? Read the rules and tell me exactly which rule (not title, but RULE) this video breaks.

Okay, so I get that the title of the run says how many stars you need in the first place, but I feel that should also be required in the rules. For example, you wouldn't have the rules of 120 star simply say "Beat the game as fast as possible." You'd still include the rule of getting all of the stars, since that's part of the requirement.

That leads to a problem with the 70 star rules, specifically with runs like these (and yes, I'm aware it's a TAS, but that doesn't disprove my point):

Technically under the 70 star rules, a run like this could be considered a 70 star run, since it follows the exact written rules of "70 Star". If you disagree, go back and read the rules. Not the title. The RULES.

Does no name qualify as a "swag" name? If not, the world record is invalid.

If you're watching BlackChaos' tutorial, I believe he uses the claw hold (not entirely sure tho, so don't quote me on this). Claw jolding is when you use your left pointer to control the left joystick so you can move the C-stick with your left thumb.

Personally, I hate claw hold. What I always do is, I push the C-stick up as I'm running forward, and I don't release until I'm about to press A. That way, my camera doesn't start to fall again until I'm partway through the jump, and that usually works to keep me from getting longjump glitch.

Hope this helps. As Schneider said above, if you have further questions you can join our Discord. We have a lot of friendlies over there who would be willing to help you out :)

Different leaderboards are managed by different moderators. I myself as a moderator require proof before I verify anything, and even then I watch the material thoroughly to make sure it's not TAS or anything, and that nothing against the rules was done. Some other moderators aren't quite this strict. With this issue, I'd recommend contacting the moderators of the leaderboard, specifically the mod who verified the run you're talking about.

So I used to play this game when I was younger and I just found the speedrun leaderboards. I was considering maybe trying some 100% stuff (since I know where basically everything is in the game) but was wondering how you would define 100% for this game. I know it'd probably be at least all of the letters and drawings. ~KryxedOff

So I'm aware that there is a Gameboy version of this game. However, the Gameboy version is completely different from the other versions of the game, while GCN, XBox360, PC, and Wii are all the same. Should Gameboy really be on the same leaderboard as the others?
