I have no world records and I'm sorely tempted to /crush/ that site's rankings ;) Let me know if you want my collection of PBs, assuming none of the builds got deleted in the past year or two.

The best way to complete marathon isn't just back-to-back tetrises for the whole run. It can be done in 193 lines by burning a double at the end of level 3, a single at the end of level 5, and a double (or 2 singles, costing line clear delay) at the end of level 10.

So the run would go 3 tetrises, a double, 4 tetrises, a single, 18 tetrises, a double, then 22 tetrises. Unfortunately, maintaining b2b in high gravity presents a bit of a challenge, but not an impossible one.

We acknowledge that it's easy enough to fake a screenshot; using videos is always welcome. (Even for well-known players!) Unfortunately, Mineplex puts no developers on Speed Builders; I have bug reports dating to the game's release which would still be hanging if not for their forum move.

Just adding-- videos are always great, please use them if you can! This issue is one of quite a few that get resolved.

Apr 1 is Easter Sunday, so we picked Saturday. If Arc probably can't make it anyways, does 2pm EDT work well for everyone?

If Arc's joining, I'd like it to not be unreasonably late. (Would 9pm in Finland as a starting time work?) I know Dante and I would also like to be able to wake up later though.

Be there or be square. Tell everyone who's good at SB - having 8 people for this would be ideal!

Questions to be answered at the conclusion:

• Can some builds show up twice in a game, maybe under a different name? (Red Bull v He'll give you wiiiings!)
• Are there only 351 builds in circulation? (Can we access the other 16 spring builds, maybe?)
• Why did we think this was a good idea?

Rules:

• For the first 20 or so rounds, we'll be building normally so we don't waste everybody's time. If you need to call for a tie (see next bullet), do so quickly!

• After that, we'll be tying rounds. Place one block correctly, and don't place anything else. To be safe, stay away from slabs, stairs, and entities. Really really really stay away from double blocks, such as doors, beds, and tall flowers!

• Don't mess around. It's possible to safely build stuff, but prone to failure. Ideally, nobody dies for quite a while.

When?

March 31st. I haven't picked a time; I don't know what time zones we have to manage. Currently, I'm thinking around 11 for the US' east coast; that will be 6pm in Finland after daylight saving time happens.

How long?

If everything goes smoothly, a little bit under 2 hours. Tying a few early rounds will only bump that up by seconds; please do so rather than forcing a reset an hour in. Because of how long this will take, you may wish to do something like bring a snack to your computer.

What map?

Guardian Reef, a new map with plenty of space to not fall off.

What should I do for "Big Boy Track," a build entirely made of slabs?

The safest option would be to place one wooden slab in a correct spot. You could also place two stone slabs on top of each other in a correct spot. Don't place them where there were no slabs or the wrong type of slabs, or place only one stone slab.

The mod (perhaps not the rest of your client) is fine on Mineplex; it doesn't affect gameplay. I would shy away from adding an inventory preview even though it's possible to memorize or derive the inventories anyways. Sounds like a really neat addition to the game, though! If you don't mind me asking, how does it identify the build? Can it distinguish between the 2 versions of "Intersection" or "Sticky fingers are the worst..."?

...wow. We'll miss you, Garchomp. Hang on to that friend you have, and see about making more or keeping in contact with us. Also, have another game or hobby; something you enjoy. If you're ever interested in SB after Mineplex dies, I've created everything except for double jumping in vanilla Minecraft.

Does the old intersection build show up on the original 3 maps? If it does, it might be a good idea to split it into two builds; otherwise, keeping the current record sounds fine. Also, the changing slots are due to how the hotbar is generated from the build.

Nobody showed up yesterday =P Eskeetit and I tried yesterday with 2 players and made it to 168 rounds - just an hour short. I'm up for another attempt next weekend, on either the 28th or 29th. The 28th is a little bit better for me, but if someone can't make it the 29th is also fine.

The 22nd and 29th are Sundays... also, tell your friends and whatnot. It would work better with 8 players, I think.
