Is this game worth speedrunning? I'm wondering this since the main story in the game takes about 50+ hours to beat if you play normally.
When fast traveling, it seems you can just jump from the top to the bottom and still survive, without having to fall like an assassin.
I just saw this happen while watching a streamer play this game:
I'm not sure if this helps in any way or is faster than the assassin's fall, though it might be good to know it can be done while jumping from any other higher up place.
It seems to be a fall-cancel with a weapon equipped to my understanding.
The funny thing is, I read that twice and apparently didn't notice it. I'm really sorry about that. xD
Hello everyone. :D I created a speedrun of a new game and submitted it. How long does it usually take for it to be approved?
This has probably been asked many times before, but I can't seem to find the answer, so I'm apologizing for this repeating question.
Thanks in advance for your answer. :D
112% with AB makes sense now. Wouldn't normal Hollow Knight and Radiance be included in that as well though? And I didn't know there was a second 112% completion rule. Thank you two for the replies. I'll give one of them a try.
Why would you need to beat the Pantheon of Hallownest, when it would be faster to beat the game with the Hollow Knight fight? Because the last pantheon doesn't give any percentages.
I'm sorry, I'm still new to this site. No need to be rude about it. Thanks for the reply though.
Is there a speedrun time splitting program that automatically detects when to split on this game? I've seen a speedrun that looks like it has that function, which is why I got curious.
This is really getting interesting. I'm looking forward to how faster we can beat this game. :D
That's awesome. Those are neat little tricks. :D
The quickest order we found is to got to Ivory Peaks first, then to the Hideout and last to the Underdark. I'm not sure if there is a different order that might be quicker because of the Sootling and Divefish we'd need to get. If there is a way where we don't need either of them, then the game is really broken. xD
I was wondering if it's possible to beat the game without having to pickup a wallet. I doubt it, but it would save some time collecting it. Maybe there's a possibility to find a route that works.
Because I'm new to this site. I made a mistake and resubmitted the same run. That's why it was gone for a while. ^^"
I saw your run after I posted this. It's great, even with the difficult fountain skip you did. Good job. :D
A Discord Server sounds great. I'd look forward to join and chat with you all. :D
Using the beeline skip to Ivory Peaks would even skip the annoying cutscene with the tree. I don't even understand why he's there, since it doesn't seem to be story relevant. xD
Using the beeline skip this way could change the order of the chiefs too. It could mean getting the Divefish after saving Chief Boon.
Thanks to everyone for finding out about this. I'll try it out when I have the time. :D
