Hey. Moldavarim and I just wanted to leave some thoughts on the category. We like the mode itself, we think Palace% represents a big enough part of the game to be a valid open category. But 12x speed is definitely a bad ruleset for categories in general because it takes away from your strategy and routing, and focuses more on your hardware (which should not be the aim) and uncrolled speed. The run will get quick enough anyways. Furthermore we would like to opt for only 3 palace pieces, as more pieces only stretches the run artificially. We would also like to add a set of rules regarding the map editor: It should be banned from all free game categories, as it provides an enormous advantage that breaks the spirit of the game.

I think we need to talk about the categories. As fervast suggested, I also think this game lacks a good free game category. Any% is fun, but it doesn't show anything from the real game. I've tried the idea of the Free Game Independence, (Video will be added), But I am not sure if the category works. The problem is, and you'll see that in the video, that after reaching aristocrats there is literally nothing to do anymore. You simply need to wait for the queen. This means if we run the game at 4x there is a waiting time of over 30 minutes after reaching aristocrats, and that simply doesn't make for a good category. It's tedious. I think we need a better approach. What about reaching aristocrats? or getting to a full palace? Or anything else? I would be interested to hear your suggestions and then I will run the new category.

thanks man:) It's proving to be a lot of fun for us. We played this game for years when it came out and returning to it for speedrunning feels incredible. We are kinda working on an all scenarios run or even bigger projects like a 7 gold medal run. But let's see about that:) for now we are busy mapping the scenarios. We ofc hope to see you challenge our easy runs..
