This glitch tends to happen in speedruns if you don't reset the game after the level before (Paths of the Dead). So if you are having this problem close and re-open the game after completing Paths of the Dead (you can close the game when the continue story text appears) then continue as normal. If it still happens after that they the only thing I can suggest is to uninstall+reinstall
Thanks for letting us know. The run is segmented, so can't go on the leaderboard unfortunately :(
Adding to what Zojalyx said, the only known glitch exclusive to the Wii is a method of stud farming by doing day/night warps to Isengard. Other than that every other discovery would be new
I would also love to mod but I haven't been a mod before so Herasmie is probably better for this. I'm happy to give it a go though
Fair enough, I also thought the rule was weird when I first saw it as no other game I know has this. Although it is annoying to lose a PB/WR pace run to something out of your control, it is no different to losing a run to RNG. I also agree that it can be abused a lot, for example intentionally softlocking when a trick has taken too many attempts so the section can be redone
It looks like changes have been made to this rule recently meaning that any softlocks or crashes are no longer removed from the final time. This meant that Herasmie's freeplay WR is now his old time and my NG+ PB is 2 mins off WR. This has been a controversial rule and personally i think there should have been a community vote on it. Can one of the mods please check this rule change and explain the reason behind it?
I think most tricks in this game are consistent but takes a bit of time finding the setup for them. After that you can generally get each trick 1st or 2nd try (with the exception of Osgiliath wall clip, fish grab and log launch). The fish grab I have not tried, but the log launch is purely collision based, so really it is just how the game deals with the situation. The main thing for me on all launches and collisions is to minimize lag, as the game tends to drop collision then leading to bad launches. Not sure about how much of an effect fps has, but my bad PC can still get a lot of the tricks anyway at maybe 30 fps. Setup is definitely key, so take some time experimenting with the tricks before deciding whether to run the game
