I sincerely apologize for my inactivity these past 2 months. After coming back I deemed a number of changes necessary:
- The Arena Win leaderboard no longer has sense due to the boards inactivity and as such will be decommissioned. I could delete it but I'd rather hold off with such measures. If you run this game you can comment on if you want the cat completely nuked. At the very least no new runs will be submitted to it.
- Added difficulty subcategories.
- Changed Patch dates to game versions (where applicable).
- Patch-Combined category name changed to 10 Wins.
Probably something else too. Please if you feel strongly about anything regarding this topic, do leave a comment. I only do what I believe is best for the state of the leaderboards.
As the tides of SAP shift once again we wave goodbye to the pets of the past and embrace our newly updated friends...
The "winners"of the May 10th version of the game are: Standard Pack: cowpigcow with 3m 06s, Expansion Pack #1: potspeedruns with 3m 58s And Expansion Pack #2: akren with 2m 49s, who along with Custom Pack: cowpigcow with 4m 12s set the new patch-combined scores for those categories for future updates.
Congratulations to all those dedicated gamers.
Along with the new patch category added, the names of the pack categories have been updated to Turtle, Puppy and Star.
Soooo....
A few of you will notice that 1 or more runs of yours have just recently been rejected as "obsolete". Please do not panic, as this is entirely a fuck-up on my part. Essentially, up until now to MO was that any runs get duplicated to BOTH the Patch-Combined and Arena Win categories. Which makes sense for the most part, except when someone submits a run that is a PB in a NEW Arena Wins patch subcategory, but is actually obsolete in the Patch-Combined section of the board. In that case there is no reason for the run to also be sitting in the PC category when it wasn't a PB for that category at the time. As a result, today I took upon rejecting all of those runs that don't belong there. Do not fret, the Arena Win versions of all those runs will still be present on the board. I will also keep tabs on this with future verification so that nothing like that has to happen again.
Hope I didn't cause too big of a ruckus, thank you all for speedrunning this awesome game, see ya.
The February 10th season unfortunately coincided with the release of a test new pack on the web version, which took interest of of speedrunning the game, but with it finally becoming official we can expect a bit a resurgence, hopefully. The Winners of the February 10th patch have beaten the overall record once again, congratulations to:
Standard Pack in 2m 39s: IanTang! and Expansion Pack #1 in 3m 18s: akren!
With this being the biggest patch ever naturally some changes will occur to the leaderboards. First, the past and the obvious. A new subcategory of the May 10th patch will be added to Arena Win categories that runs will be submitted to from now on, effectively refreshing them. Also, some might have noticed that the 3 Arena Wins category has been deleted half way through the last season, that was due to insufficient interest. I think we may just need to stick to doing Arena runs with different packs. Which is not too bad because of all the new additions! Both the Patch-Combined and Arena Win categories will get "Expansion Pack #2" and "Custom Pack" categories. They will work on a seasonal cycle like the ones existing currently, but there will be no category for the Weekly Pack. I'd love to hear your thoughts but the way I see it it is simply not practical to hold a leaderboard for a category that not only is nearly random in nature but also changed so often. With that being said, I wish all of you a great time trying out the new patch!
With the new game update, the tide of the leaderboard shifts once again. Huge congratulations to the last update winners, noted below. This has been the most active season (rotation? period? era?) yet, and I wish to deeply thank everybody who contributed to the leaderboard. Let's make this one, yet greater.
Our winners for the December 8th 2021 version of the game are: Standard Pack: quarterintelligent Expansion Pack #1: CadisTheGreatest 3AW Standard Pack: SubOptimal 3AW Expansion Pack #1: thecanadiangameboy
Both of the single win WRs are also WRs across all patches so far. Massive props to the immense dedication and skill of these runners, and here's to a new chance to shine for all of us in the February 10th patch!
Along with the newest game patch, a new subcategory of "December 8th 2021" has been added to all categories. Any runs from now on shall be submitted there.
Now this also means that we are forever done with November 11th patch, move it into legacy and announce the "winners" of that version of the game. Those being: 1 win Standard: Veswa 1 win Expansion: rolltorest 2 wins: rolltorest
Massive congratulations to all those, and good luck trying to beat those record in this new patch!
Hello! I am back from the short break and implemented all of the changes talked about prevoius to it. Here is a list of everything that has been added/changed
-
Double Arena Win category added. In this category you need to do two back-to-back 10 victory Arena runs with the two animal packs. It combines the high-rolling fast-thinking explosiveness of the current runs, with the methodical consistency required for general play. I hope you will find it enjoyable!
-
Patch sorting added for Arena Win and Double Arena Win categories. Arena Win and Double Arena Win categories now have "November 11th 2021" and "Pre November 11th 2021" subcategories to indicate when each run was done. New subcategories are going to be added whenever a new major patch comes out. The wording on the subcategories is very combersome, if anyone has a good idea on how to better tell them apart do not hesitate to mention it!
-
Patch Combined category added A new main category has been added called "Patch Combined" which combines all runs ever done of a certain category irrelevant to what patch it has been played on. This also means that all runs will be posted twice, once to the patch combined category and once to it's patch-sorted counterpart. Runners will not need to worry about submitting to the right place. You just may submit once and I will take care of resubmitting everything as should be.
-
Minor game audio rule change Now top 3 runs in all categories require clearly audible game audio all throughout the run. This rule is not going to be enforced retroactively but take note of it for future runs.
-
Minor rule rewordings
-
Leaderboard backround now scrolls slowly.
-
Arena category renamed to "Arena Win"
And that's it! I hope this solves most of the issues raised before as well as introduces a few cool new additions.
As always please share any thought you have regarding the changes in the comments. I listen to all feedback and fix whatever is justly pointed out.
Between the 12th and 14th I am not going to be present to verify runs. I am sorry for the inconvenience and I promise to verify everything the very next day I am home again.
Take care, and thank you for running the game!
