Would it be possible to do individual levels (ils)?
There are games that have individual levels for speed running and it could be something that is really possible being that there is a mission select of sorts.
From what I figure, you could go into to the level with as much as you want (i.e. pixls and items and what else) or with no items (what ever is decided in the end). It could easily be different from a any% being that you can prepare ahead of times and having dashelle)
Please tell me your thoughts on expanding spm and if it is possible. Thank you. -moomath
ILs would be an interesting way to expand this game. my only concern is the fact that after you go through a level once, things are faster the next time. (unlocked doors, solved puzzles etc.) how would that work? would it have to be the first time playing the section on a new file? that might limit what you can use a lot.
My thoughts about expanding this game:
It would likely be hard to expand SPM much because most categories I imagine ever being a possibility have little difference from any%. 100% would be different by a lot but would likely be way too long and tedious for anyone's taste. I could imagine glitchless being a possibility though it still would be similar to any% because there aren't any really big skips as far as I know. In general, this game doesn't have much to add on in my opinion.
If everything is faster, then that shouldn't be a big problem. That means that in order to go for the IL, you just have to beat it the first time. I don't see an issue after that, it would add a lot to the speed run aspect and make it much less time consuming. Overall I still think that it would be a good addition with really no problems in setting up.
Im veryy happy to see after 3 years that this game has expanded and cant wait to see how the new individual worlds are completed. Perhaps im missing something though since i dont see why individual worlds are not done post game? As far as i know most of the worlds are relitively the same aside from being faster but would still work and the ability to use other items and pixls to see how fast the worlds can be beaten.
In either case i look forward to getting back into spm!
