As title suggest, when do you think we should end the timer. I believe initially I wanted timing to end the moment Homncruse begins to flash different colors since it's kinda hard to realize the run is over unless you retime the run. What do you guys suggest?
Gin and myself talked about it, I am up for either or but there are three places where we could end the timer.
-
The final imput/attack on Homncruise
-
The start of the blue flash
-
when the "you win" dialogue appears
I dislike the final input / attack since it's kinda hard to know when that occurs and always requires retiming. FF VI uses this but they use joker doom so it's a given when timing ends.
I think "you win" is the easiest visually, anyone else wanna say?
You Win works for me, it'll be a big jump though if Vagts timed his to final hit. Blue flash may be a closer cue in that case. I'm waiting on a response from Vagts regarding how he timed his run, but likely it was final hit since it wasn't run on splits.
I think it was when the flashing started, but yeah we need to figure out a consistent way to time runs, I"ll message him
OK so pretty much every run on the leaderboard is timed by the flashing animation signaling Homncruse's defeat (which I assumed was the case before asking). We good on having this as the ending time point?
This is a quote from Vagts I just got.
"I think I stopped timing when the dialogue box disappears and the death animation starts."
So yep, that sounds peachy.
So just to be precisely clear and in agreement:
-
Text Box disappears after final hit.
-
There is a brief 2-3 second pause to prepare to SPLIT.
-
Audio and visual cue for blue glow start and SPLIT is hit.
This sound accurate?
Pretty much yeah, any method we try will have some kind of inaccuracy but this sounds like the best option that doesn't involve watched for "The End"
