Cutscene Time Deduction Query
Louisiana, USA

I'm curious about how to properly deduct the time for a completed run.

I'm going to be running in the 100% PS4 NG+ category, so the time deduction is 57 minutes and 10 seconds.

The way the rules seem to me is that if you want to use this time deduction, the cutscenes during the run need to be allowed to play.

To my mind, if you are skipping the cutscenes during your run, you shouldn't be allowed to use the 57:10 time deduction at the end of the run, as that seems like "double dipping" for a lower time.

Am I correct in thinking this or are we allowed to skip the cutscenes during the run and also deduct the 57:10 from your final time?

The 57:10 is only for the unskippable cutscenes in the run.

I know that is what the 57:10 is for. I'm talking about that if you want to subtract that time for your time after your run, you can't skip the cutscenes during your run. For instance, if your time at the end of your run without skipping the cutscenes is 6 hours total, your IGT after the deduction would be 5 hours 2 minutes, and 50 secs. That seems fair. However, if your time after your run with skipping the cutscenes is 5hrs 5mins (the difference between this time and the 5:2:50 is menuing) and then you subtract the 57:10, your IGT would be 4 hrs 7 mins and 50 secs. That doesn't seem right and feels like " double dipping" since the 57:10 is to account for the cutscenes. That is my question. Are runners allowed to skip cutscenes and also subtract the 57:10 from there time?

I don't think you fully understand... Most cutscenes in the game are UNSKIPPABLE, these are the ones that we are subtracting time from. There are 2 times, Real-time and Time without cutscenes, Real-time would be 6 hours which is how long the run actually took real-time, we subtract the 57 mins 10, and the Time WITHOUT cutscenes is 5:02:50. That Doesn't change the fact your RTA is 6 hours. The cutscenes that are skipped are counted towards the RTA, not the time without cutscenes, the 57:10 isn't a number pulled from thin air, it is the exact amount of time Unskippables are all together, it is more convenient to subtract the time where we are just waiting for a cutscene to play out so it doesn't affect how long the run takes in Real-Time. TL:DR - Skippable cutscenes are not counted in the "Time Without Cutscenes" Unskippable Cutscenes Are.

Ah ok, that makes sense now. Thank you for clearing it up. So, yes, I was misunderstanding what the 57:10 was counted towards. Much Appreciated.
