Fioresa your tutorial 1 record isn't possible to achieve on the newest patch anymore as you skipped the start of the tutorial by opening up the settings menu using a keyboard shortcut (i think the space key might be something different with the settings menu) as well as you not getting slowed by the tip from completing a continent (this might just be a me issue but I cant seem to get the guy stop telling me in tut 1) it may be possible to sub 50 still but i dont think you can reach 41 seconds anymore. I tried to go to an earlier patch but did not work forced me to update to latest. Also, the world war 1 and central powers scenarios have been removed which makes them unbeatable too, it also changes the wr i set in all scenarios + classic. Id love to hear im all wrong about everything and im being silly and everythings in order but im pretty sure im right.

version differences have definitely been an issue going through most of these boards. for instance the animation removal button is something luci helped us with implementing to speed up times. but in turn this invalidated thousands of runs that included the animations. due to low runner count we left the versioning exist. the next break was when pc was introduced and became so much faster. for the scenarios we did make a distinction between the two. for the il's we did not.

final stand was supposedly made to not be 1 turnable on 2 seperate occasions but has been broken each time. i'm sure tut can be broken and if i remember correctly there we like 5 different things you could do to speed up the animations and initial screens. think ya could deploy prior to text. you could speed up text. bossfighter found a ton.

Generally the updates have increased the speed and made the board obsolete. interesting to see the opposite occur lol.

that all said, for the scenarios i'm open to changes if the community majority want it. il's probably not as it will just lead to doubling the amount of categories. which we already have too many and adding whenever i eventually login to risk :P

think the best way would be to just pick new starting points per scenario.

for history's sake especially central powers (that was a wild amount of finds to get there). would leave those boards even if unplayable. basically would be archived for our boards history.

and honestly i forget how to get the menu to load to break tut 1 (there were a bunch of things, predeployment was big for awhile, then fast text was another where ya could beat the delays etc. i remember the break in the vid, ya had to do it from a restarted map thats all i remember.

tip skip also was something different. i mean tut 1 got rekted there was a ton of tricks to it. why it is the boards most fought over run. when i get time will play around with it see what i can remember and what still works

I'd majorly appreciate it if you could trial it all again, I understand time consuming and probably not your top priority. I also dont know all the tricks for the game i just know there is major time save everywhere if you learnt everything like you did in the past. If there are videos or posts about how to do certain tricks and speedups i'd definitely love to see them as well as information about how the ai works (i feel like you can trick the bot into doing certain moves) otherwise thanks for now.

Finally, i think im the only one actually going for records right now, and my scenarios + classic WR is what I'm trying to beat right now, if you have tips for the one vs all and all vs one levels scenarios specifically, Id love insight into them as they kill my runs + can make the WR definitely sub 20 minutes.

I understand if you don't wanna help as you do hold like a whole bunch of the world records id be beating lol.

will see what i can do this week.

one vs all or all vs one i forget which one. but its just an rng nightmare for speed. the other one ya jusr gotta move a bit slower than ya want and the main bot becomes passive.

so funny story about ai manip. before i started playing ranked and vs others. the big dogs would only play 1v1 with 4 ai bots. that ended very quickly when i showed it becomes a 5v1 lol.

so the bots each have a "personality" but there are only 2. the harrassment bot that just messes with ya or the build up KO bot. its easy to figure out which are which.

if ya get a KO bot next to ya and say its expert. if ya have like a 12 sitting next to your 1. but they have a 1 on the other side. just take the 1 spot with a couple deployment troops. the 12 will never attack. it will reclaim and stop. this lets ya use the majority of ur deployment elsewhere.

also for funnsy did 10 1v1s last night. won all 10. 7 from going 2nd.

will try some runs when i get time.

also tut 1 does have a faster route watching it. but its not pretty. gonna need some dice :p

think i made some old speedrunning tjp videos. may have the skips in there as well. will see what i can find.

if the tricks are legit gone. then im cool with retiming runs at a new start point. just gotta define it

ya know just had deja vu.

was a timeframe i was the only runner who couldint do the text box skip lol. lost that battle for first movement. then learned the trick :p

first movement was my suggestion then. should make it reachable by todays version

really lame way to research it. but the mobile tut 1 obsolete wrs should actually show the evolution of the tricks. gonna browse them this week and see if i can find when the skips were introduced. might show the methods

Coincidentally came across this a minute after you posted it lol, i appreciate the help, the one vs all (player with the all) i can do that with good rng its the all vs one (bot with the all) that ruins me, i came across a video from a year ago but it seems that the ai has been changed as quite a few comments say so and i couldnt replicate the bots movements on my own. If there is anyway you could start with looking at the all vs one map id love any help (i just do your WR route to start off with but when i get to a certain point the bot just does its own thing which makes it very hard to replicate hence why i would love help with a more concrete route)

The tutorial 1 checks would be good too and if any tricks are gone then retiming would be a pain for u (sorry) would love to see you do some runs soon can see if you adopt better strats then i know. Anyways thanks a bunch for the help right now and for the help in the future.

i see if you coud possibly make a video of tutorial 1 tricks and other maps (or maybe a more detailed post about them) that would be great. I completely understand this is a big ask from you so all good if you can't.

will see what I can do. will hit up the 1va and av1 and see whats up. if they altered the ai. that probably will be helpful lol. the ai was rough on those. it really doesnt want ya to expand far. if they tightened it up more then it makes me wonder if there is a way to prevent round 2 damage and allow for a more focused 1 army attack

teasing. but ya gonna watch ur runs when i get a break today. let me get a couple days to bust some rust and lets try tackling the scenarios together / rewriting the rules for the board for todaya standards.

if ya willing to help in rules / retiming (can teach retiming if ya donno how its just a couple clicks, i use one of the retiming tools).

can toss ya mod and we can each retime a map. not too many so shouldng take long to knock em out.

risk speedrunning is nuanced. why i got addicted to it. it has more rng than id like but there is enough there to find new routes, skips, or just get the ultimate luck.

not touching the ils less someone is gonna run them. talking like 2500 runs. but the scenarios each have a little story to them and are manageable to retime / retool.

kept the board the way i inherited it out of respect to pyro but its been 3 years. totally down for a revamp

Scenarios / Full Game

Felix pointed out that the Scenarios have been Removed from risk, with a new tutorial system taking it's place. What are your thoughts as a runner?

Being the new tutorial is so short, my initial thoughts are to have the tutorial be the full game run and archiving the old full game runs.
