December Speedrun Update: Witch Hut Setting, Solo North Pole, Video Stutter update.

Solo North Pole Now Allowed

Rules have been updated to allow solo submissions of Map Settings that do not include single table layouts, namely North Pole. The following stipulation has been added to the "Player Count" section of the rules.

Map settings (such as North Pole), that only have 2 or more starting tables may be used in solo submissions if excess tables are removed from the smallest possible layout.

Video Stutter guidelines have been updated

New verifier guidelines to provide more leniency on recording issues have been put in place under a trial basis to see if any verification issues arise. Runs that have visibility issues will go through a more rigorous verification process, using many elements of the recording to authenticate the run. We’re aiming to strike the right balance and will be keeping a close eye on the trial to see how it’s going. We’ll make adjustments as needed and share what we can about the process once things are settled, all while doing our best to maintain its integrity.

Witch Hut Update and it's place on SRC

Witch Hut was planned on being added tonight, with this announcement, however, we found out today there are some large changes being made to the setting in the patch tomorrow. The Tricks Cards have been removed from Witch Hut. We checked with the PlateUp! Team to make sure the change was intentional and they reported it was, and that they are planning on reviewing feedback throughout the Holidays Event to see how players feel about the removal to determine how they move forward with "seasonal" layout types.

During this time, Trick Cards are inactive, being replaced by regular Customer Cards. Since there is the potential that these cards could be added back in after a few months, future speedrun attempts might not be fair or balanced against these runs completed with the benefits of the trick cards removed. The PlateUp Team is actively collecting feedback on this change, so if you have any, please let them know on Discord, Reddit, Steam, or any other official PlateUp! forums.
