I'm opening this thread to know what other mods think

I'm interested in doing some runs (any%) but I don't have a PS2 and I asked Deathtome privately if I can run it with an emulator, he told me that emulators are not allowed and I should ask the other mods, he would be in favor of using Duckstation with The Legend Of Dragoon settings (I guess are the most similar to PS2)

So I would like to know if the other mods see fit to allow the use of emulators or if you prefer to preserve the runs only on original hardware.

Hi, I would also be interested in playing this again if Emulator can have its own category created with specific settings and the best emulator to date: Duckstation.

Either LOD or FF9 emulator settings are what seems to be optimal. Whichever Ruinel runs can be set as a standard. Of other mods have no objections we should add an emulator category with specific settings to the board (separate from console runs of course).

I tried FF9 settings in dragoon before we allowed emulator, and it softlocked because of 3x speed (2x speed ended up being the option). But if 3x speed is stable with Legaia it can be allowed. Must make sure the entire playthrough is playable with said settings before a standard can be set. :)

Hi, today I finished a casual run with FF8 settings (I followed the Deathtome no slot USA run, I guess I watched all the necessary cutscenes) and I didn't have any problems, just that the game sometimes runs at 15-20 fps, but I guess it's something in the game itself.

I initially decided to use FF9 or TLOD settings because I never thought the emu category would be proposed since there are few runs, but I think it's best to keep the runs on the original hardware.

As far as I know, these are the fastest settings and I haven't had any issues beyond fps (can anyone confirm that these drops also appear on PS2?)

I have the run documented on my twitch channel (although I do cheats like using fast forward to farm or if a boss killed me, or doing quicksaves in the fighter minigame KEKW)
