If you are wondering what version or versions of the game you can play on. For now since the game is in a prerelease state I would say all runs submitted need to be played on the current patch of the game. What that means is going into a way back glitchy patch is not allowed or playing on the public test server. If you don't like that I would totally enjoy feedback. But seeing as Xbox players and some pc plays don't have access to these versions it is only fair. [ALL runs submitted on previous versions will not be removed seeing as currently all runs are fastest on the newest version.]
I would like everyone's feed back so if you could replay saying like yea that's cool or like nah that's stupid I would appreciate it
So into the wood was just released so for now this is the version we all play Patch notes (https://grounded.obsidian.net/news/grounded/the-time-has-come-to-go-into-the-wood)
I think everyone does have access to the public test don't they? Looking at the instructions to join on xbox.com you just need to wait for the registration to complete. Happy to eat my words if anyone's tried to register for it and been rejected for whatever reason.
I guess there could be unintended advantages on the public test version though so I'd be fine (current invalid runs aside) with runs only being allowed on the latest live version. Maybe just add a note about that to the rules.
There is also a custom game feature that you should not play on for speedruns specifically
You think we should play on custom difficulty so we can play mild and change it so menus don't pause the game? What other options there would be allowed?
