**Note on run times:** Until 2023-05-29 runs were timed and ranked by real time with loads. All runs up to that point have their time given in the format

(example: 10:10/11:00 meaning 11:00 is the real time with loads and 10:10 is the load removed time)  
Runs that haven't been retimed are given as

For runs after the timing method change only the load removed time is given.

## Early Segmented Speedruns

The history of Gothic 3 speedruns starts with segmented runs. Years went by before someone tried to run Gothic 3 in a no reset setting. The very first segmented speedrun was done by TheWonderer. It was shared on worldofgothic.de at the beginning of 2007 and was played on version 1.12.

In 2015 azubizucchini uploaded a segmented speedrun on version 1.75:

Later that year the channel also uploaded a segmented speedrun on version 1.09 that featured glitches that have been patched out in later versions such as gaining invulnerability and walking through walls:

# Glitch-Restricted

After the category's creation Sekisc did the first speedrun:

However the ruleset has been made more strict shortly afterwards and the run was rejected. The first speedrun for this category, which beat the existing Damageless runs, has been submitted in late 2023. The history is identical with the Damageless record history up to the 52:41 by marczeslaw11.

# Damageless

The first playthrough without taking damage was performed by Karstix. It was not intended to be a speedrun. The video has been lost and the time isn't known, but it probably followed speedrun rules:
