Why does this leaderboard still exist? This IL is not done in any category, from Any% to 100%. Keeping this board around is an arbitrary decision made by an arbitrarily chosen group of moderators. Speedrunning is about collaboration and adapting. We as a community chose the definition for every category, and we as a community have removed 5A from Celeste speedrunning. So what gives? 95% of the Celeste Discord agrees that 5A Clear IL should be reduced down to "Cassette%" and "Theo%" (final segment only) as those are far more relevant than anything this level has to offer. There is no point in practicing this level if it doesn't provide a practical purpose in speedrunning. It's all useless, and maybe at this rate we should get rid of the level leaderboard as a whole. Who even submits to these boards anyway? Who in their right mind goes out of their way to grind like a monkey on 20 second spurts of what is actually a massive game with a beautiful story? If speedrunning is going to stay popular, we need to stick together and appreciate what we have. Skipping cutscenes shouldn't be required for runs, video evidence requirements need to be re-thought, and people shouldn't feel the immense pressure they do to use controller over keyboard. We have to be more inclusive and loving to one another, and we all know that it starts with removing the 5A IL from speedrun.com. Thank you for your consideration.
