Should we accept glitched runs ?

A few runners and I have found that the blob behaves strangely if you press a move or jump key when the game starts. It appears to be moving very quickly or teleporting in the direction of the key pressed. This "glitch" can give a clear advantage if used over runs without it. But, it seems to happen differently depending on the version of the game: for example, I have the impression for me that the whole game is accelerated during a second, sometimes with the timer also accelerated. For others, the ball will sometimes have inconsistent trajectories at the very beginning, or sometimes this glitch will not occur or only minimally. Also, I think it adds another random thing to the run.

Do you think we should accept runs with this glitch at the start? I would act according to your opinions on this topic for the run verifications.

As a runner who found this glitch by accident and used it to make two runs, I think the best idea is to create a new leaderboard for those who use glitches.

(I don't know if my post was clear, my English is not perfect.)

We could separate it but has it been confirmed that the bug is inconsistant ? On my pc the result seems reliable... But for sure if it IS fully random it should be in a different category, but I'm also afraid about the number of categories being ran. Since there are not many players, maybe it is not the best idea to double the amount of categories idk... Banning could also be a viable option :) Happy to hear other opinions about this

It's my opinion, I'm pretty new at speedrunning so, yeah.

But I think the idea of making a separate category for those glitch speedruns is a viable option. In a lot of video games there are glitches that can happen or not, and speedrunners sometimes trust the "RNG god" to help them in their quest to become the 1st on the leaderboard so I don't really know why it could be a problem. It wouldn't affect the current leaderboard, and it opens a path for challenge. The "full game" leaderboard is still empty as for the time being but that won't stop us trying one day to put our name in it. Time will pass and maybe more players will come and try new records or beat the old ones. In my perspective, it's a way to open new doors into the Blobby Volley speedrun community (I would have never expected to say this sentence lol).

That's, again, my opinion on that subject. If someone don't agree, please tell me where I'm wrong :)

I have read your opinions, and this glitch (even if for me it makes the runs less consistent and fun) is therefore allowed, but there will be no separate categories (for now) because there are too few active players to double the number of categories. But now when you post a run, you must check the "Glitch" variable on Yes or on No.

Hello people!

I've started playing this game a bit again, and I think I found one useful info concerning the glitch. For me it only works when I have the "Show FPS" option enabled and does not work at all if the option is disabled, very weird... Now I should check if other options affect it as well :) If anyone was wondering why they could not replicate the glitch at all, there you go!
