I'm asking you guys this because a LOT of NoDeath% runs that we've gotten have had no form of tracking the wins except for watching the entire run, which can be sometimes 10 minutes, but sometimes over an hour long. If we force counters, either on screen or you guys saying the number of wins you're on in the run, this would help mods significantly and make verifying runs easier and faster! I wont be removing any runs that don't use a counter, but instead, for all FUTURE runs after this update (if we vote to have it) will need one.

a counter isnt the worse idea but the issue iv found any counters to keep on the screen during takes up half the screen i haven't been able to find a smaller one yet

you will have to watch it regardless, if you are only looking at the counter ppl can be sneaky and add points here and there mid fight even if its one or 2 so its not noticeable.

Fonix, if you are using OBS, you can just resize the counter on screen so it doesn't take up everything.

Frag, the way I usually verify runs, is if they use a counter, I jump to each time the counter goes up, and verify that it was a win. If I'm watching the entire run, it's gonna take over an hour, and I don't have that kind of time to do that. You can also look up how to use a counter if you're confused, as it doesn't have to be edited footage, but a live counter trigger via a hotkey every time you win. there are plenty online you could use. You guys could also just say your win # out loud so we can hear it.

I have been putting a counter into all my runs using obs and another program it is very easy to implement just watch a video if you don't know how.

And I think counters should be mandatory to prevent possible miscounting from the user or cheating

I am sorry, I didn't do this, I counted all of the kills manually and added it to the title because I didn't know how to add a counter without messing myself up while doing the run, hopefully this does not ruin anything.

i feel it will damage the integrity of the results if you just go off the counter. the issue is lack of moderators more than the count, if you can put in any number you want it kind of defeats the purpose

I can see where you are coming from, but whenever someone uses a counter, I go to when they were ticked (increased by a number) and ensure that the win screen or a kill matches them up. If they aren't, I deny the run :D

So for example, using this method on a 100-win run, instead of watching the filler of people dancing around for kills or brutally mutilating some poor dude for 50+ minutes, it usually takes me 10-15 minutes to make sure it's legit thanks to the counters.

Counters aren't there to do our job for us, they're there to make sure we don't fuck up counting also.

Not trying to be annoying just followed that video for the death counter and my computer refuses to let me use it it wont show any text documents in my folder and wont let me create new ones does anyone have a solution not trying to make mods lives harder just cant get any counter to work.

Could use a text source in OBS and just edit it manually! seen a few different people do that :D
