so you wanna go fast, right? but how do? here how.

Important DT Racer has a cheat code that unlocks all the cars in the game. This is helpful not just because it takes an ungodly amount of time to unlock all the cars normally, but because it avoids unlocking the reverse tracks. Normally, you would unlock reverse versions of every track after 1,000 kilometers (about 650 miles) driven. These versions are incredibly disorienting and we don't like them. Therefore, you should use the code and then refuse to save before turning the game off. The code is: R1, R1, △, △ (that's R1, R1, triangle, triangle just in case your system doesn't unicode right)

Enter that on the main menu. There's no indication when it works besides seeing all the cars in the car select menu. It's also a toggle, so you can turn it back off if you ever felt compelled to do that. Note that I have only tested this code on a North American copy, so other regions could potentially have different codes.

Arcade After choosing Arcade mode on the main menu, you'll be shown a list of tracks and be given the option to "Continue" or "Start Over". You should choose "Start Over" until only short tracks are listed. This doesn't take too long, usually only a couple minutes at worst. Once you get a good set of tracks, choose "Continue" and you'll be prompted to select your car. Do so, and then select either automatic or manual transmission (doesn't matter which, your preference) and either crash or no-crash mode (use no-crash unless you're literally the embodiment of Car Christ). You'll then be taken to a screen showing a map of San Christo; you start your timer at the moment you press X or O on this screen. You'll stop the timer when you see the congratulations screen at the end of your sixth race.

Grand Prix Mode you should probably just dont

If you really want to run Grad Prix, you'll have to figure it out yourself; I have never beaten it.

I'll probably write up some per-track advice in separate guides if I'm feeling particularly inspired in the future. And maybe add some general advice down here? I dunno. We'll see.

Car Class added to Time Trial leaderboards

Just posting an announcement here to notify people that the Car Class variable has been applied to Time Trial runs. All existing runs have been set to A Class by default; I checked a couple and they seem to be correct, but you should be able to change it for your own runs if that's wrong. If there a
