im in 121st place because I MOVED WAY BEFORE THE TIMER STARTED. i am so stupid for being this bad. BUT, im gonna get a way better time
@JFG2010 it was decided that we would accept runs that did that with a penalty. This is exactly how @m_da got his 3rd place run although he moved before the video started. @Jamqx's run had about a 1 in 3,125 spawn chance and @m_da's run had his starting position ~1.5 studs from @Jamqx's run spawn. It did get verified with a penalty.
Oh, and if you're wondering how I got the spawn chance, there are ~25 possible spawns on each spawn platform. There are 5 platforms, with 25 spawn points each. 5 x 25 = 125, but we're not done. 1 in 125 is your chance of getting on the platform ALONE, so 125 x 25 possible spawn points = 3,125.
Edit: I got the math WAY wrong. It turns out there are 196 possible spawn points on each platform (there may even be more, I counted studs on the platform) There are 14 by 14 studs on the platform, so there are 196 possible spawn points on each platform. This means that the chances of getting on the platform are ACTUALLY 1 in 1,196. To get the best spawn point (which is the stud in the top right of the platform) the chances are a 1 in 230,496, which is INCREDIBLE.
yeah but you can’t spawn hanging off the platform, wouldn’t that eliminate one stud
edit: what makes the top right any better than the other points on the front edge?
yeah but you can also aim it to the right to get an equally good angle
edit: also "the odds of getting on the platform are 1 in 1,196" no????? it's 1 in 5
each spawn pad is 14 studs by 14 studs, however since you can't spawn hanging off there are 13 x 14 studs to spawn on for each platform, or 182. since there are 5 platforms, this means that there are 5 x 182 = 910 possible spawn points.
there are 14 studs that can be spawned on that are on the front edge of the raised platform, meaning you would have a 1 in 65 (910 / 14) chance of spawning on any of the studs that would be considered the optimal spawn point. feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.
one stud is one dark brick looking thing in the ground, therefore there are 196 on each platform.
I got the 1 in 1,196 thing wrong because I said there were 196 possible spots on the other platforms, so I counted each of the 196 spawn points on the other platforms and added that up. 1 in 5 still seems like an INCREDIBLY high chance rate for the spawn chance of that thing
Also there is physically no way for there to be 13 x 14 studs because the box is square, so if there were 13 studs on one side there would have to be 13 on the other side, same thing for 14.
"Also there is physically no way for there to be 13 x 14 studs because the box is square, so if there were 13 studs on one side there would have to be 13 on the other side, same thing for 14." one row of studs cannot be spawned on because you would be hanging off the edge, therefore we subtract one stud when calculating the number of spawns on a platform
and yes, the spawn rate for getting on the platform is 1 in 5. each spawn point has an equal number of spawn points and there are 5 of them
I have edited and added on to the rules to make them easier to understand. If there are any runs that do not follow and/or break these new rules, please notify me.
(also yes, this is like the nine millionth moderator change)
