Yes exactly. It's fine to run the game for fun on emulator but we won't accept top times on emulator anymore as it runs considerably faster than console.
Hey someone late again for updates about my runs!
So if you are worrried that I didn't play Pandora's Tower since round 1 cut you don't have to worry; the game is really easy to relearn, as iit won't take more than 4 hours to finish relearning and be able to do good runs. I'm really not worried about that for any of the categories of the game.
I had a shot a few weeks ago to get a 2:42 no intro for Golden Sun 1, which would have been WR by 3 minutes, but sadly I failed miserably on the final boss... And because of how the game works, as any mistakes, even the smaller one can means minutes of timeloss, keeping estimate at 3:15 is definitly good. BloodDuster managed also to get a sub 2:55 no intro, and just didn't have that much time to do runs, but I believe he can go for sub 2:50. Anyway, even if our times are far away from each other, the race can be very tight, as I feel like he is way more consistent to everything, but do everything slowly for that matter, while I go as fast as possible for all my menus, which sometimes lead to mistakes.
Now finally, for Xenoblade, I got to finish relearning the route and do runs this week and got a 5:40:30 as my first run. I didn't get any time to do many attempts yet but I know I can go for sub 5:30, even 5:20 right now, or even lower if I get to run more. Therefore I lowered the estimate to 5:45, which I know I can get 90% of the time. I got the worst possible run right after the first run and ended with a 5:50, but I still don't know how I played so badly back then, so no reason to go above 5:45 with proper practice for ESA.
To capture a GBA game the best way is to run it on a GC with the Game Boy Player attachment, and then capture the GameCube the usual way- with an SD capture card.
For streaming all of this you should try using OBS as it is free and fairly easy to use ;)
I don't really see how interesting such a category would be; only doing part of a run should nly be seen as practice and not a fully existing category, therefore it could be ran but no point to add that to the leaderboards.
Well, if the problem is getting a video of the run is a problem (for example because you only own the game on 3DS), you might have noticed that some runs are referenced on leaderboard even though there is no video, so that's not a problem. However if it's because you don't own the game or the console and you only can run it on Dolphin then this gets problematic.
If you plan to run the game a lot and try to get oneof the best times, you will spend a pretty important amount of hours playing the game, and investing some money to get your game captured shouldn't be a problem (especially if you own the game on the Wii/WiiUVC ; getting a capture card for that is really really cheap nowadays) And if you want to run it maybe just once or twice for fun, just having the splits on the leaderboards would be enough.
As seen in the title of the game, this leaderboardis only fr the GBA version, as both games are completly different. So no, sorry ^^"

As far as I know there isn't anything different between the English and Japanese versions. And even if there is actually some differences it can still be on the leaderboard, it will then just be tagged as a run done on the Japanese version.

Anyway, GL with it! It's not too hard to finish a run if you can bare the grind and you know how to use overdrive, but it's definitly very fun.
New3DS isn't a possible version to make. Also you can't run the game on normal 3DS silverstar ;)

If you wanna learn any% the full guide is really really good. and if you plan to run all djinn (which I don't recommend cuz harder+less consistent), well, this place is actually somehow active.

Because all chapter route is also any% route right now. The Any% route is in the making and should save 30 minutes, but without a proper route you can forget going faster than all chapters.
Hello everyone! While trying to create my set up for NG+, I went ahead and tried to crack the power formula... and I foud out about it!
Total power=(personal power+weapon/chain power)¤personal power/10
Pretty sure defense works the same.
So since personal power is both based damage and the multiplier, it's more than likely what you should focus on while making your file set up (aka 7 bulkward brand). Still going to run some charts to test all that anyway.

I advise you to look at C ending runs chopper and me did, as there are some strats you could steal from us that could help you quite a lot ;) also playing with Wiimote istead of gamepad is quite helpful to go fast! I'm sure we could drop this category to sub 2hours :)

Welp, kinda sad I got no game in while I had 2 games that passed the second cut. I have my answer for Pandora's Tower (guess I'll try again next year), and I have my guess for Xenoblade, but do you have any reason to give for cutting Xenoblade?
