United KingdomPersonally, only way I could see a viable option is to require a splitter in the recording. From my times, the splitter was coming out 1min faster (pretty much bang on) than in game time every time... Surely if someone is doing something to bugger the IGT, the splitter timer would show this?

To be honest though, other than me and 2 other runners, the duckstation board was void of runs for like a month solid at least... The new PC mod filled up in a day. Let's face it folks, from the mods point of view, what's the point of having a board with barely any interest that is a hassle to verify?

Call me old school but I think I just prefer playing the original game rather than a modded version and it just so happened that ps emu was the readily available one to me without needing extra setup or hardware.
Guessing all other ps emu are the same?
Might move over to remake if we're set on ps emu being too much of a hassle to have a leaderboard for.
At least I can say I was a record holder once upon a time haha!

So if I run Duckstation, I'm assuming that means I can run unmodified (JAP)? I don't really understand the sourcenext or rebirth stuff so sorry if that's a stupid question... I don't even know if Duckstation will run those 2 versions or if they're standalone in all honesty haha!
Also, PC option for platform when submitting?

None of you have probably ever seen my name before, I'm very much new here.... To Speedrunning in general in fact.
I've been a long time fan of speedrunning and love watching runs but then, when I finally decided on a game to begin learning and running, I find that the version I own is banned from speedrun.com.
Very disheartening honestly, but no shade intended, I have read through the forum posts and understand the reasoning behind it but as far as I can tell, anyone running PAL will have the same broken IGT and all PAL runs should still be or par with themselves.
As I browsed the forums I came across an interesting post and I paraphrase here: "why don't you create your own?" So... That's what I've done. The link at the bottom of this post is a simple Google sheets doc I threw together for PAL runners or people looking to get into PAL runs.
Am I expecting this to blow up? Absolutely not! But I always find the fun of speedrunning is having other runners to compete against, to help better your runs, build communities and all that good stuff and that's what I'm hoping for here. It's by no means an official leaderboard, just a bit of fun and should speedrun.com decide to introduce a PAL section, I will probably remove this document... Hell, if it ends up becoming bigger than I expect, I can try help transfer the data across in the event this ever happens.
So that's it... Good luck and god speed any PAL runners who use my humble leaderboard.
