This is something we've talked about in our Discord, and some pairs of runners have already pulled off some impressive co-op runs. We're just not sure how we want to set it up on the leaderboard quite yet
Moomania has a little guide on here covering some useful info for console runners: https://www.speedrun.com/slime_rancher/guide/uyx1p
They're pretty much our resident console expert. I'm sure they'd be happy to answer any questions you have specifically about running on console if you message them on here or on our Discord server
If you have any risk at all, there's a chance they can get in
Added it to the category extensions board. Lemme know if you have any suggestions
Sounds like it could be interesting. The optimal route would probably end up being a largo/crate hover to the teleporter though.
This thread is a hub for everything about my randomizer mod which is currently in development. If you don't already know, randomizers are tools for specific games that mix up game elements to provide a fresh experience for new playthroughs. The goal of the Slime Rancher Randomizer mod is to do just that, while also being fun and highly configurable.
This mod is free and open source. If you would like to contribute, or just want to see how it works, check out the source code on Github.
Randomize the following game elements:
- Slime types
- Produce types
- Slime diets
- Gordo food requirement
- 3 different randomization modes and many options
- Randomize Gordo types
- Randomize Largo spawns

Use this mod at your own risk. While there should be no way for it to harm your save files, I would advise using caution and backing up any saves that are important to you if you plan to load them while using this mod.
Thanks for checking out my mod! In the future I may set up categories for it on the category extensions board. If you have any suggestions or issues, feel free to leave a reply.
This thread will be used to list the glitches that are not allowed to be used in any Glitchless category on both the main and category extensions Slime Rancher leaderboards. If a glitch or exploit is not listed here, it is allowed to be used in Glitchless categories unless otherwise stated. The glitches/exploits listed here can, however, be used in all Glitched categories unless otherwise stated.
Mods will use some amount of discretion when deciding whether to accept glitchless runs in which one or more glitches were used where those glitches were accidental and/or had little to no impact on the run. Though in general, glitchless runs with glitches are denied on the spot.
For a full list of known glitches and exploits, along with detailed explanations of each, see this google doc maintained by community members: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19hqJzg9iNW8tlmLL5kuOnHw70KlrvQgAtkrbwu5JUaw/edit
Banned Glitches/Exploits
- Animation Skipping
- Clipping or Zipping through world geometry
- Deathwalking
- Depot Duping
- Double Key Glitch
- Gadget Duping
- Gold Plort Duping
- Menu Overloading
- Sleepwalking
- Slimeulation Early Exit
- Slingshot / Momentum Flings
- Water-Physics Glitch
Additionally, the following sequence breaks are also disallowed in glitchless categories unless otherwise stated:
- Going over, around, or in any way bypassing the Ancient Ruins barrier
- Entering Ogden's Retreat or The Wilds in any way other than using their designated teleporters
- Accessing the locked area of any character’s ranch expansion without unlocking them through normal means (Ogden’s Retreat, Mochi’s Manor, Viktor’s Lab)
- Accessing one of the vaults in any way other than using the teleporter for that vault
- Additional sequence breaks may be added to this list as they are discovered
I'd be down for a Glass Desert category. Not having to get 5 slime keys opens up opportunities for as of yet unused skips and tricks.
I can try working on an autosplitter for this game. If I get the load removal working it's up to the mods whether or not it can be used.
However, I may also be able to get autosplitting for nights (and maybe other things) working, and there's no reason why that wouldn't be allowed. I'll update with my progress on the Discord.
