Hey everyone! i have noticed a lot of runs in Major Glitches (Any%) are not compatible with the rules. first and foremost im talking about the ones played on an emulator.
Examples: "FOR TIMES IN TOP 20%: [...] The input configuration (button mappings) must be visible or shown at the end of the run."
almost none of the videos on the top of the leaderboard display the input configuration.
same thing with this rule: "Emulator name/version should be visible or shown at the end of the run."
Also global rules like this one: "The full credits should be shown at the end of the run." are often not observed.
a lot of videos aren't even visible/online anymore.
i dont know if these violations are tolerated because the rules were introduced later or sth but even if thats the case it would mean that runners nowadays have to follow a stricter ruleset although they compete for positions on the same leaderboard.
i feel either the rules should be changed or invalid runs according to the ruleset should be removed to keep it fair.
what do you think about that? would be happy to hear some opinions on this
have a good new year everyone!
*edit: maybe a new leaderboard for the stricter ruleset would be an option? especially when it comes to rules regarding the input configuration i feel it is not fair the way it is right now. and of course i'm aware that removing all the runs that dont conform the (changed) ruleset (anymore) isn't the solution that brings the most joy
