As I said earlier, the dunwall elevator skip is clearly a glitch in my mind because it skips a bunch of stuff that arent supposed to be skippable.
Still not worth making a category for it, but imo it's hard to argue that's not a glitch
I would argue that the elevator skip is a glitch because it skips some stuff that are not intended to be skipped.
Other than that Corvo would barely change and it would take most of the fun and challenge out of the Emily runs, so as long as nobody does a run there's no point adding that category. (That part applies to NG+ as well)
Riot barely avoided
honestly it would barely make a difference in the run because the vast majority of damage taken comes from falling, it would only be more annoying to run in places where you can get attacked
That's really weird... i also use compatibility mode and run it windowed so your problem should be elsewhere, though i have no clue where
are you sure you are splitting and not just skipping the current split? it would explain the -'s. Also double check to see if the timer is set to IGT and the load remover is activated. Otherwise i dont really see what could be causing that, unless you've set the splits for another game... I'm not sure if the load remover for Bioshock 1 also works for the remaster and vice-versa, might wanna check that out
http://imgur.com/heJ0Z8w this spot works consistently for me when crouching in the corner of the room near the door (standing up makes the bottle break on the ceilling)
I know Janmumrik has been routing NLG (non-lethal ghost) for quite a while now, apparently it's really hard to route so just give it some time before someone actually comes up with decent strats i guess
how much of this lock is true and how much is just Delilah's imagination?
also the default names and items displayed on the door when you get to it is always the same
the vase jump is pretty inconsistent, you basically just roll, mash the grab button and hope the game has mercy
id be interested in going back if there was a level leaderboard honestly. Can't really be asked running the whole thing again but some levels were pretty fun and quick
I made a discord server for the BioShock speedrunning community, anyone running the game, planning to do so or having a question can fell free to join!
Besides, the intro is actually faster with (or without, can't quite remember) the narrator on, which means it's possible to get a different prologue time
load remover is enough, since we can still split while the timer is paused. It is a very good idea though, since loadings are extremely inconsistent in this game.
I don't know how to do them myself, but I'll ask around for i know a few people who made load removers/autosplitters for other games.
The only real tricks i know of besides bhopping and wall strafing are the down prison skip and the quick stairs in stairs, prison skip saves ~30s and quick stairs ~15. Other than that, I don't really think we'll find much more considering how the game is designed
Well thanks for saving me the trouble. Did you find a setup or something to do it consistently? Cause I haven't
