When anybody says that a speedrun is "dead", it's not really dead.
There's not really a tutorial for Master Sword. Just watch some Maaster Sword runs to get an idea of the route.
Any% EG is exactly what it is though. It's simply true any% where you beat the game as fast as you possibly can using anything. If people know how to clip into Kakariko to get that 1 minute time, then those people have the full-on advantage. The ledge jump s+q route is the more older stuff before we found the Kakariko clip.
You can only place 4 blocks at a time. When you place a 5th block, then the first block gets overwritten.
I plan to pick this up. Is there a community discord that I can join?
Do you guys have a community discord server up?
Unless you're gonna get a 77 at the end, then you can get the fireworks because you get an acorn for that. So it's a very nice safety.
There's a total of 94 exits in the game and none of the Superstar Road levels are accessible without getting the star coins anyway. So it wouldn't make a difference at all if we changed the terms of whether or not Superstar Road is required or allowed.
D-pad pumping is a lot easier than control stick pumping as with a d-pad, you can use two fingers and get more mashes in to save frames every time. Also pumping loses time if you're facing right or down so it's always good to do it when facing left or up.
Do you have some sort of camera to record your game? Quality won't matter as long as you have footage of your run.
Also sorry for the late reply. I'm a busy guy. :P
I think that would save a little bit of time but I guess not a lot of people take advantage of it. I've known that trick for a while and never understood why it happens until you mentioned it so I guess we can try to utilize it more.
"No Major Glitches" is the default category of ALTTP. It is the most competitive of all of them. You just beat the game without clipping, going out of bounds or doing any other game breaking mechanic. It's simple to learn. Any% on the other hand utilizes a glitch that lets you beat the game in 2 minutes which essentially makes it very repetitive very easily. Low% is different from No Major Glitches because you don't get any safety items as you're ONLY getting what's required to beat the game. That includes skipping tempered sword, any boomerang, and possibly skipping silver arrows? I haven't tested skipping silver arrows yet.
