We do what's called "Dive Bomb cancels" or DBCs for short. you start a dive bomb by pressing down + B, and then you cancel it halfway through with A. This way you get the upwards component of the dive bomb and then the height from the wing flap, and you can repeat these really fast.

What I used to do was hold down on the dpad (usually along with a direction) and then mash A and B in a specific rhythm. Sliding my thumb from A to B repeatedly tended to give me the best results.

I thought I should make this post to let everyone know that as of May 2020, these lines in the rules of any% and 100% have been modified as follows:

"The only allowed emulators are mGBA and BizHawk with mGBA core. Runs using these must also use the BIOS file, and show the GBA startup screen via a hard reset before the run.

Use of an official release is required for runs below 39:00 (for any%) / 43:00 (for 100%)."

Previously we did not enforce hard resets for PC emulator runs, but starting now we will reject any runs that do not show proof of BIOS use. This is because emulator without BIOS saves about 50 seconds, giving an unfair advantage.

Additionally, any unofficial VC injects (so far I'm only aware of 3DS) will be considered as emulator runs.

That said, the emulator threshold has been lowered significantly for both categories.

aside from that, the strat is really precise and not really viable RTA, and with how many other tricks there are later in Beat RotK runs it doesn't seem worth resetting over

Redesign does look more modern, but three main things need to be fixed:

1. Either remove the header or allow us to customize its color
2. Related, don't make links the same color as the theme, it looks really bad especially with the default dark green.
3. Bring back leaderboard customization - I can understand removing animated backgrounds but as a lot of people here have already said, you've removed a lot of the hard work people have put into customizing their boards. At the very least, bring back static backgrounds, trophy icons, and being able to customize the speedrun.com logo

Otherwise it's decent I guess, but I'm of the opinion that if it ain't broke don't fix it
