Truth. Honestly, it's the same as Extract% so kinda regret submitting it here xD Seemed like a good idea at the time.
Congrats! You're a better aim with the 500kg than I am XD Gonna need to try that EAT strat myself.
Had an idea for a category I figured I'd pitch, so will just leave this here in case it grabs anyone's interest.
Marathon Campaign
- Planetary Campaign: Select 1 planet, all missions must take place on that planet and only that planet.
- Operational Ladder: Start on any Trivial Operation available. When that's complete, move to an Easy Operation, then a Medium Operation, and so on until you complete the final mission of a Helldive Operation. You may not join missions currently underway (joining ongoing games on the map), you must always select a new mission.
- Failure: You must succeed at all missions, failing even one invalidates the run.
- Sub Category: May use the Any%, Extract%, and 100% rules, but must be chosen before the first game begins and kept with until the end of the Marathon Campaign. Failing the requirements of the chosen category on any mission invalidates the run.
- Crash Stipulation: Since long term playing in HD2 is often fraught with glitches, any player that crashes may rejoin the game as soon as the game permits them to. Players must always be the same players, and players that crash may not be substituted with other/new players joining the lobby, it must be the same players from start to finish.
- Timing: Timing begins with landing on the First Mission and ends with extracting from the Final Mission. This will most likely require an external timing tool, either through a retimer, livesplit, or similar tool. Timing is continuous, including time spent onboard the ship.
So... Since I don't see it called out anywhere, what are our opinions on using Alt+F4 to scout mission levels?
For anyone who isn't aware, Alt+F4 while in a HD2 mission will close your game out, and when reopened you will have the same mission, same seed, ready to go as though you hadn't even launched it. This, could be used to scout seeds and retry advantageous levels over and over again.
While I wanna say I'm for it, since I think it'll make for more interesting level specific strats, I am concerned that it'll disadvantage our PS5 comrades since I don't think they have a similar method (unless they do? I'm on PC so not sure).
So, curious what folks think one way or the other on this one?
