Heres a question. Manually removing load times?
SO Sheva on lower fps makes it easier to do a door kick?
Thanks precisely what I thought had to happen. And that weird error "unable to load or save" came up.
Okay. Well we are practicing now and doing pretty horribly. Thanks for the info
I tried to give up gaming once...once. I sold my PC and bought a Mac. Found myself months later still playing Dota and anything else I can run on it, until I broke down, sold it, and bought another gaming PC.
Ya know, it's funny talking about being old... when I was in Japan, OLD people would be in the arcades. Like, old old. Playing the horse racing games, some playing fighting games, some playing slots. But they were in the arcades in Japan...
I don't think gaming will ever leave me. I hope I learn to incorporate it into other goals I have in life as well though.
Wow thank you all! The speedrunning community has a reputation for being friendly, I see why!
Oh my god it's Bullets.
I've been watching your runs pretty religiously and I made it a point to watch your run at SGDQ. How long did it take to get all that down pat?
I'm not gonna lie, I thought to myself "pshhhhh this game is so easy, time only moves when I move?"
Never have I been so wrong... I just got through it casually. Time to start refining, and thanks for teh Discord, I'll be on and about.
I know I'm 4 months late to the stupid question party but god damn it I'm full of em!
FPS switching and "kick through" doors. What is the deal with this? I see a few runners switching FPS during certain parts (PC, obviously), and something having to do with door kicks, seen here: http://www.speedrun.com/re5/guide/hoy7e
What exactly is a "door kick"? I've watched the guide and I understand changing the FPS will affect IGT and real time, as well as loading times, but still unfamiliar as to what a "kick through" is.
I was actually hoping you'd respond to clarify this, because me and my buddy both actually loaded instead of turning off steam cloud. When you disabled the cloud, it also allowed for an actual "new game", right?
I saw a few forum posts that suggested to go into the Program Files and navigate to your specific save file as a means of truly starting a new game, but if disabling steam cloud works just as deleting that remote file does, then I should definitely try that.
Because when we loaded, we had inventory items we sold instead. So I could be gravely mistaken on what I considered a new game and what is truly a new game.
Nerd here being a term of endearment. I figured I'd introduce myself as I submerge myself in this community/passion more and more. I've loved watching speedruns for years and finally watching SGDQ this past week made me fully commit to it. First game I'm gonna be trying solo is SUPERHOT, as well as working on Resident Evil 5 Coop speedrun. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions.
I'm a Marine Corps veteran and I've traveled around the Pacific and lived in the mystical land of Japan for three years. Any questions, feel free to ask
I restarted on Normal difficulty and had nothing in my inventory... could be amateur difficulty.
Does this include the FAS as well?
Hey all, my friend and I have been avid fans of this game for years, so we decided to try our hand at speedrunning it. (Of course, SGDQ brings in a wave of new plebs).
My question is pointed towards New Game Coop, rules, and the current WR holder. The rules state empty inventories, but the current WR videos show the players starting with a pistol and a first aid spray. Is this an arbitrary item given at the beginning of the game, or am I missing something completely?
