Hey everyone, we've had a lot of submissions coming in that we've had to deny due to not following the guidelines. It's fine if it's a small mistake like putting in the wrong time or difficulty as we can edit those submissions ourselves. Things such as submitting a really long VOD with a ton of content not related to the run or not showing difficulty/end screen with photos make it difficult to determine the validity of the run and ensure it's going to the right place. We are glad so many new people are taking interest in speedrunning RE4, but to make our jobs a little easier, take a look at Sleepwalker's thread below before submitting!
If you play 60 FPS, it is highly recommended that you disable v-sync as you can see a lot of slowdown during high intensity areas or drops to around 50-55 fps, which can cause a lot of time loss over nothing. RE4 doesn't have an in-game option to disable it, so you have to do some extra work:
- Access the config file in Documents/My Games/Capcom/RE4
- Change the number next to V-sync to 0
- Access your graphics cards options and ensure v-sync isn't being forced on for all applications
- Profit!
This probably isn't news for most runners, but I had no idea about it since it's not obvious what could be causing slowdown. Hopefully this helps out!
Many speed communities do weekly races for fun and also have the added benefit of bringing new people to their game. We've done plenty random races before, but would people be interested in doing a bi-weekly race on the weekends? We can alternate between NG and NG+ so that everyone is included, and possibly make it weekly if they become popular enough. We also have the benefit of RE4Central if this does become a reoccurring thing as a main hub for people to watch.
What day/time works best for people? If there's enough interest (aka 3+ people), I would want to do a NG+ race this Sunday afternoon, but I would like to hear your guys thoughts first.
So now that a few runs have been completed for any%, we should start considering changes to the run.
I listed some possible changes in my notes (link below, can't access currently from work), but I think the biggest two things are going to be grinding gold for Paranta Seeds to give Vyse better PWs and optimizing late game fights for a SS run.

Hey all, I saw plenty of guides for clips and such, but is there a pastebin that explains the route for no major skips?
I'm looking to learn Shantae at some point and I see one PC time and the rest of them being Wii U. What are the main differences between the two and which one is ultimately faster?
