Absolutely! As long as we can see the game being played, doesn't matter how it's being recorded.
Hey mohoc,
Although I don't know the exact details, yes, Mario Party games have a tendency to run at 50Hz on PAL. This does mean they run at a slower speed than 60Hz versions of the game. This issue is known, and it sucks, but nothing will be done about this. This kind of stuff falls under "region differences". Some regions will have faster versions of a game, such as Japan, where there is less text in general. This is just accepted in speedrunning.

Hello everyone!
I've made a few changes to the leaderboards, mostly clean-up.
- A new category, Bowser Party (Bowser) All Boards, was added.
- The difficulty subcategory was implemented on every category.
- Digital vs Disk was removed. If someone can prove to me that it matters enough, I'll re-add them.
- Rules for some categories were clarified (and taken out of a pastebin)
- Amiibo Boards ILs were removed, as they were all empty. If there's enough interest, I'll re-add them.
I considered moving Individual Bowser Party Boards to the IL section, but SRC is pretty bad at ILs. As such, for now, they will remain in Full Game Categories. I will try to move them if this website is ever not awful at ILs.
If anyone has any suggestions (or complaints), please let me know!

Hello thomas,
As I don't own a copy of the game, someone'll need to compare loading times for me. Until then, runs will stay like this.
Thank you,
- Cosmo
Hey conman,
If you want All Minigames to be a category, you can do a run. If other people also show interest in running the category, I'll create something for it on the leaderboards.
For Bowser Party All Boards, I just added this. The Individual Boards are gonna have to stay in Full Game Categories for now, because this website doesn't handle ILs in a very good way, so I feel that it's better they stay like this until some changes are made to this website. When they do though, I'll get right on it.
For Individual Mario Party Boards, I'll say the same thing as All Minigames. Although you won't need other people's interest for those, I just don't want empty leaderboards.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need something else!

Emulator runs are hidden by default. Filter -> Emulators -> Consoles and Emulators. There is one run, done by FishermanFV. I believe someone else may be planning to do one soon...
Some games have received minor changes recently to standardize the series' games, and this post is to explain what I did.
-
All console Mario Parties now have emulator hidden by default except 10, which has it banned. This was already done on most of them, but N64, GC and Wii emulators are simply not accurate enough. Maybe one day when we'll have accurate emulators, but it wouldn't be fair to the competition until then. 10 had it banned already when I checked so I didn't do anything there, but if someone asks for it and can show me that it's not totally inaccurate, I'll put it on hidden by default.
-
All games now have similar URLs (marioparty1, marioparty2, etc). This should've been done a long time ago, but Mario Party 6, 7, 8 and Advance had different URLs than the rest of the games. To make it easier to navigate between games, they are now similar (mariopartyadvance, marioparty8, etc).
That's it. Let me know if you have complaints. - Cosmoing
Requesting series moderator for Mario Party series - FishermanFV added me as a Mario Party series mod, but it doesn't seem to give me moderation over the games (which was the point of giving me series mod in the first place)? I'm assuming I have to get approved by a site mod to get mod on all the games. FishermanFV no longer has the time to take care of accepting or rejecting runs, which is why he wanted me to do it in his stead.
Update: Yeah, Skype is dead. We do have a discord now though! Here's the link: https://discord.gg/0hwVJZ5USYlGkZre
Yes, all versions are allowed - that means NTSC-U, PAL and JP. We're not certain if any version has time saves on text, but JP probably does have some advantages. You would have to memorize the answers to the questions asked, but that's not too hard since they're always in the same spot.
For Low%, I think it would be better to ban eggs. Low% always has been a "get the least possible items" category and I feel it would be more fun and challenging this way.
100%, not quite sure yet. I'm leaning towards not required, so that if more collectibles are added later on then we don't have to change the category and such, but I can understand why people would want to have the eggs be required.
I like ATM, but I still feel that All Bosses might be good too. And Post Game could also be good. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Hey Half-X,
The issue of emulators in speedruns will always be a debate. There's no clear-cut answer and it's especially hard to find a compromise when there's a difference between the emulation and the official hardware.
To find this compromise, I'd like to invite you to this discord to talk more about this. This also applies to anyone else who wants to: it's a general mario party speedrunning discord. It'll be easier to talk there, and we'll be able to get the input of more people.

Thank you, Cosmo
To the Mario Party 2 community,
So after a while of agreement that the leaderboards needed to be cleaned up, I finally decided to do it. I personally think how it currently looks is nice, but if you have an criticism or ideas to improve it I will gladly take it.
Thanks in advance, Cosmo
