Simon, I know that this is long overdue, but Republic Heroes now has it's own text channel within the Star Wars Speedruns discord server. Here's the link to join: https://discord.gg/djDd7mJ .
Hello Simon, These are some great ideas! I can work on adding the fresh save file category tonight, and see about adding an option for co-op runs. The only reason I haven't added them already is because I figured that there wasn't enough interest in the game for people to fill the categories. Just curious, would you find it helpful if I would create a Discord server for speedrunning this game? I could chat sometime this weekend and maybe give some tips that would help people just starting to run the game. Thanks for the feedback!
So sorry bro, didn't get a notification for your post for some reason. If you're still interested in running, I'm down to optimizing the run. I know I can get the time down a lot. Anyways, hope you try to run it! I think it's a super fun game :)
Awesome, glad to hear it! I haven't had as much time to run the game recently, but I do have some new skips I would like to try. If you have questions or ideas, be sure to let me know. There is so much more optimization to be done!
Done. I have yet to find a way to make categories for each location, so it's a very long list, but it's the best I could do. I think the best way to navigate it at the moment is to click "View all" and then find your level. If I find a new way of doing it, I'll fix it. Anyways, let me know what you think, and I can make changes if you see how it could be improved.
Update: Rules have been added.
Yes sir. I was planning on adding one at some point, but I wanted to make sure that people were actually interested in running it. Thank you for expressing interest, I will work on it when I get the chance.
After further analysis of all game versions, I have made the decision to create subcategories. The PC version is within its own category. PS2/PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are identical to my knowledge therefore they are under the same tab. The Wii version and PSP version each have their own differences with the base game, as noted in the Prima Official Game Guide for Republic Heroes. There are simply too many irregularities between the spawn locations, wave behavior, and unit count/difficulty, in addition to basic game functions such as the combo bar. The DS version is practically a different game, so I'll submit a new request for that version soon.
Edit: I separated the PC section; my PS2 copy just arrived in the mail and I now see how drastic the differences are.
Hello! I have an interest in running this game, and was wondering if you would accept emulator runs. I understand if not, but I think this looks like a great game to grind :)
Hello!
So, the game finally got approved, and I'm stoked for it. I would like to start off by saying that if you have any problems, questions, or suggestions, let me know. Start a new thread and I would be happy to hear you out!
For now, I would like to discuss the state of the leaderboards.
At the moment, I am currently organizing categories and trying to figure out some of the more tedious details. For instance, I am aware that this game was released on more systems than I have listed, but I have noticed some slight differences between the versions that need to be researched more. As far as the DS version is concerned, I may make a new game request. The game is completely different.
Another thing worth noting is that I have never seen anybody else run this game. In turn, I know that it's difficult to know where to start. Follow this page(the button is underneath the title/picture of the game) and I'll be making some guides for what I have discovered so far, and I know that there's even more to find.
Anyways, I hope somebody has an interest in running Republic Heroes, I think it's a great game that requires a lot of practice.
Have a great day!
Interestingly enough, I just checked the leaderboards and that must have been updated while I was typing. Grats!
Hi Braf,
Although I am not 100% certain of this, my assumption is that it has to do with the fact that your runs do not have information for "time without loads." This is the only thing I can think of because I have been searching the forums and have not found a thread with a similar issue. If you take a look at the Any% w/ bonuses, some of the runs have the same time for with and without loads. Since being accurate with your time without loads would not affect your ranking at all, perhaps you could do that? The best way to find out would be to get in contact with/wait for a mod, but I figured I would throw in my two cents.
