Does the original game run at 50 fps carotina? How can we check it?
I just played it and it's awesome! I'd say beating even the first level is a huge accomplishment for anyone who wants to try this out :D It was hard and I liked it ;)
Oh left side. That's not a tree carotina it's a barrier XD If we have level 3 glitchless in a full game category then we should also have glitchless+inbounds level 3 as a seperate category in my opinion. I've been feeling sick past couple days i will look into it when i get better.
Just had this idea: do you think it is possible to finish the game without making sound? Like no sharp movements with hammer, no grunts? :D
guys I tested the game with another laptop and it seems like the resolution goes up to the highest 4:3 resolution windows allows for the monitor you're playing on.
It is a 16:10 monitor and the resolution is 2560x1600 The highest 4:3 resolution allowed by windows in settings is 2048x1536 I launched the game at native resolution, took a fullscreen snapshot and confirmed it's resolution matches the max 4:3 setting.
In conclusion what this client does is display the game at max 4:3 res and put black bars around it. If you set your resolution to any 4:3 resolution(custom or official) under what windows has set as max and then launch the game, it runs 4:3 stretched fullscreen. Personally I like playing at 960x720, It gives me the snappy jumps with the hammer and gives good enough control.
Also I couldn't get it higher than 640x480 windowed but that's a lot better than the original client because it doesn't force the whole monitor to 480p :D
You are talking about glitching through the floor at the tree right? It's not possible to go through it sideways as far as i know :D Both of those would be going through an intented obstacle anyway, which already have their category: Level 3.
wow carotina this is nice! This client doesn't force my monitor to 640x480 :D It looks like the max resolution is double the original, 1280x960, past that resolution it just adds black borders around the game. Higher resolution should allow for more precision I'm excited to play with this, thank you :D
If done perfect it can be a 6.50s split, considering the L going up and down takes 1s each and first cycle L is a 8.50s split
Currently on inbounds+glitchless runs we catch the L(hehe) and we have to sit there and wait while the L rises to it's maximum height so the hiker can pogo off of the floor and continue. Waiting for something and not doing anything else sucks in a speedrun.
Turns out there is a way to get over the tree and fall into the right side very fast and it allows the hiker to catch the L one cycle earlier! Here's me attempting to do it for an hour:
Timestamps 13:14 success1 (best) 13:46 success2 20:23 success3 22:41 success4 24:37 success5 38:22 epicfail 45:02 ???
idk how to edit videos :/ I record with OBS, view the recordings with VLC and cut the goods with LosslessCut
useful VLC shortcuts; shift+left arrow to move 3 seconds back and E to go frame by frame
well, who needs good lines/speed when you can decapitate the hiker to win xd
