I just wanted to say that it's really cool seeing this game get some new runs. I thought it would never be touched again after I ran it in 2008, but the speedrun scene has obviously grown huge since then! It's really exciting to see some new skills applied to a game that's been around for a while but didn't have a huge number of people playing when it first showed up.
Additionally, if there's any way for me to verify that the old run listed on the leaderboard belongs to me, I would be happy to provide whatever is needed. It's the only "real" shot I've taken at speedrunning anything seriously, so it means something to me.
Hi InfinityX! In order for you to verify the run as yours, I'd have to delete and then you would resubmit the run under your account. The run's time is also 1:45:18 according to current standards. I also wanted to thank you as well for your Any% Hard run. Along with SZSK your run helped me learn some strats for Any% Hard (particuarly 3-8). Anyway if you'd like for me to temporarily delete your run so you can resubmit it under your name I'd be happy to!
That sounds great! I am delighted to hear that my ancient run was useful in some way. I really appreciate you getting the video credit sorted out. Sorry it took so long to respond, I've been forgetting to log in to check my messages. I'll have to see if there's any way I can set up some email notifications. Anyway, I'd be glad to resubmit it.
Ok, I went ahead and resubmitted it. I have no idea what needs to be done to get the time correct based on modern standards (which you kindly did for me in the existing entry for the run). Let me know if there's anything I need to do in terms of editing the submission, or if you have the ability, I suppose we could just transfer the information over from the existing entry.
I would also like to ask if you guys have any other place for discussing these kinds of things. I know a lot of communities are setting up Discord rooms nowadays. I've got that, or I could download and set up whatever else is being used.
